About The Shape of Old Memory Συλλογή Γυναικείου Ενδύματος
Η δημιουργία αυτής της σειράς έργων προέρχεται από τον προβληματισμό του σχεδιαστή σχετικά με την καινοτόμο εφαρμογή της παραδοσιακής χειροτεχνικής κουλτούρας στη σύγχρονη σχεδίαση και την καινοτόμο αξία εφαρμογής της. Η παραδοσιακή χειροτεχνική κουλτούρα είναι σαν έναν θησαυρό βυθισμένο στα βάθη της θάλασσας. Οι άνθρωποι μπορούν να αντιληφθούν την ύπαρξη και την αξία του αλλά σπάνια να τον αγγίξουν. Εάν δεν διασωθεί, θα ξεθωριάσει και θα εξαφανιστεί, κάτι που είναι λυπηρό. Μια άλλη καινοτομία σε αυτό το έργο είναι η χρήση κόλλας εποξειδικής ρητίνης AB, η οποία μπορεί να βοηθήσει το έργο να διατηρήσει την καλή του φόρμα όπως ένα γλυπτό και να διαδραματίσει σημαντικό ρόλο στη διακόσμηση.

- Unique Properties
- The innovation of this design is mainly reflected in the application of special materials, the design of apparel structure and the innovative application of traditional Chinese Chaozhou embroidery pattern. The addition of epoxy resin AB glue makes the modeling of this series of clothes become stable like sculpture, more tension, but also more expressive. The application of traditional Chaozhou embroidery pattern makes the works more vibrant.

- Production Technology
- The main technology of this series of works is the application of Epoxy resin AB adhesive. On the one hand, the material used in the edge of clothing cut can play an effective role in shaping and supporting, on the other hand, the material can also better fix other decorative materials on the clothing, has a good decorative effect.
- Design Challenge
- There are two main challenges in the creation process of this series of works. One is about the application of epoxy resin AB glue in costume, and the other is about the application of traditional Chinese Chaozhou embroidery craft culture in this work. In this series, I did not really apply embroidery techniques, but used metal bead chains to represent the extracted embroidery patterns. What I want to discuss is the new possibilities of traditional craft culture in contemporary design.
- Research
- This work focuses on the innovative application of new materials and traditional Chinese craft culture in fashion design. Its materials such as epoxy resin AB glue and metal bead chain that I used are relatively rare in the field of fashion design. Their addition not only well decorates the design, but also plays a good shaping role, making the costume more tense
In addition, the patterns in this work are all based on the Chinese traditional Chaozhou embroidery craft works. - Inspiration
- The creation of this series of works comes from the my thinking on the innovative application of traditional craft culture in contemporary design and its innovative application value. Traditional craft culture is like a treasure sunk in the deep sea. We can perceive its existence and value, but rarely touch it. If we do not try to salvage it, we will only see it fade away and disappear, which is regrettable.
- Project Duration
- The project started in September 2021 in Guangzhou and finished in May 2022 in Guangzhou, and was exhibited in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in June 2022.
- Operation Flow
- This work is not only wearable clothing, but also can be regarded as decorative sculpture. Because of the application of epoxy resin AB glue in the work, the work can maintain a relatively beautiful shape stably even without the support of human body, and has good ornamental value.
