Σχεδιαστική Πρόκληση: Unlike the automotive industry the skin of an eVTOL aircraft cannot be designed alone. The entire aircraft must be designed collectively with engineering and industrial design teams working hand in hand to achieve a final product that’s visually stunning while meeting the strict aerodynamics and weight demands required for the aircraft to perform at the level required. Combining world class design thinking with aerospace engineering is an arduous process. For the landing gear alone there were forty six versions created until the design met the required performance score from the engineering team.
Έρευνα: Archer’s collaboration with a pioneering aerospace composites manufacturer has resulted in Midnight’s remarkable balance between weight and strength. This partnership is evident in the extensive utilization of cutting edge carbon fiber composites throughout Midnight’s airframe, reinforcing its structural integrity and enhancing its overall performance. Διάρκεια Έργου: The project started in 2018 in Gainesville, FL before moving to Silicon Valley where Arhcer's HQ and flight test facility is. Commercial flights are planned to begin taking place in 2025. Midnight made its international exhibiting debut at the Paris Airshow in June 2023.
