About Ryo Πολυθρόνα
Το Ryo είναι μια πολυθρόνα διαμορφωμένη ως μια ενιαία συνεχής φόρμα. Οι κυματισμοί εκτείνονται από το κάθισμα έως την πλάτη και δημιουργούν έναν αδιάκοπο βρόχο. Ο σχεδιασμός ξεκίνησε από το ερώτημα αν ένα κοινό έπιπλο θα μπορούσε να λάβει μια πιο ελεύθερη μορφή. Η σύνθετη τρισδιάστατη επιφάνεια ήταν δύσκολη στην παραγωγή και επιτεύχθηκε με τη χρήση ελαστικού υφάσματος. Η πολυθρόνα έχει πλάτος 725 χιλιοστά, βάθος 730 χιλιοστά και ύψος 800 χιλιοστά. Το καμπύλο κέλυφος αγκαλιάζει το άτομο που κάθεται σε αυτήν και προσθέτει ένα γλυπτικό στοιχείο στον χώρο.

- Production Technology
- Creating the shape of the tertiary surface proved extremely challenging. It was achieved by employing stretch fabric.
- Design Challenge
- Expressing the form of the cubic surface and realising it while utilising the engineers' skills proved extremely challenging. Through repeated discussions, we continued to seek the correct solution until completion was achieved.
- Inspiration
- This project began with the question: could we express the commonplace piece of furniture that is the armchair in a freer form? The idea expanded from the seat to back, the undulations creates an uninterrupted loop.

- The project started in Apr. 2020 in Tokyo and finished in Jan. 2021 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2022.
- Operation Flow
- This unique chair, which adorns the space, envelops those who sit upon it. It promises an experience unlike any other.
