About The Ray Broche

The Ray es un broche inspirado en un rayo de sol que se abre paso entre las nubes en un día nublado. El color base del broche es oscuro, ya que la pieza emplea metal con baño de rodio negro y un diamante negro. Gemas luminosas se combinan con esta base oscura para dar luz al conjunto. Las perlas aportan un brillo suave, mientras que los diamantes añaden destellos junto al metal oscuro. El broche se desarrolló como un modelo digital tridimensional. The Ray mide 50 por 30 por 17 milímetros.

Unique Properties: The base color of the brooch is dark since it's using black rhodium plated metal and a black diamond, but mixing with a bright gemstones brightens up the entire piece.

Production Technology: The brooch was created in 3D model. The body for the baguette diamonds and the
Design Challenge: The most challenging part of this piece was transforming the dark image into bright object, still containing the dark element.
Research: My research began first by observing the cloudy day and capture the moment of the ray that comes out from the cloud. After I understood the shape and movement of the light, I then researched how to incorporate and design a piece that is fine, and balanced. I researched everything using online resources.
Inspiration: The inspiration of the brooch comes from the ray of sunlight appearing through the clouds on a cloudy day. The luster of the pearls gives and extra soft glow and the sparkle of the diamonds stands out like a ray of sunlight next to dark metal and black diamonds.
Project Duration: The project was designed and completed in June 2022 in Milan, Italy
