About Kodama Bar Stool Barrako eserlekua

Kodama Bar Stool intzentzuko eserleku bat da, kontagailu eta barretan erabiltzeko diseinatua. Diseinuak Japandi ikuspegia jarraitzen du, itxura lurrindu eta organikoarekin. Intxaur eta sagarrondo zurezko kontrasteak agerian uzten dute jointura tradizionala, ikusgai geratzen dena. Zurgintza tradizionalaren jakintza CNC fresatzaile batekin uztartzen da, konplexutasun eta zehaztasun handiagoko jointurak lortuz. Aulkiaren neurriak 45 cm zabalera, 54 cm sakonera eta 66 cm altuera dira. Kodama izenak zuhaitzaren espiritua esan nahi du, eta diseinuak omenaldia egiten dio zurari, material berriztagarri gisa.

Production Technology
The challenge of this project was devising a method to program the powerful CNC router to delicately manifest the design through complex coding of the toolpaths and precision workholdings of the components on the machine. This innovative process has many more exciting years of refinement ahead as we are just beginning to open the door to a new era of parametric design and manufacturing that will allow human creativity to flourish with these new capabilities.
Design Challenge
This is a new field of manufacturing with little education opportunities available so I'm self-taught and continually making everything up as I go. I wake up every day feeling like the luckiest guy in the world to be on this creative adventure.
Inspiration
The word Kodama translates to the "spirit of the tree". The intent behind the Kodama Bar Stool is to pay tribute to wood, one of our world's most renewable materials, and to honor the tree that granted us its life's work.
The goal of this project was to combine the knowledge of traditional woodworking with a CNC router to accomplish joinery that was previously unobtainable in complexity and precision.
Project Duration
The project started in 2016 in the mountains of Colorado and was finished in Southern California in March 2019.
Operation Flow
Visible and honest wood joinery designed to hopefully endure through generations of daily use.
