About The Mask That Ate The Virus Birusak Ezabatzen Dituen Maskara

Livinguard suitzar bioteknologia enpresak bakterioak, onddoak eta birusak (Covid 19 barne) talkaren unean bertan desaktibatu eta ezabatzen dituen ehun bat garatu du berrerabil daitezkeen maskaretarako. Ideia hori paketatzean gauzatzen da: maskara pakete esteril batean dator. Erantsitako plastikozko zerrenda batek animatzen du —gora eta behera lerratzean— birus baten irudi grafiko bat, prozesuan zehar irensten dena, egun latz hauetan hain beharrezkoa den umore pixka bat gehituz. Familiako kideen artean maskarak nahastea, eta beraz kutsadura gurutzatua, ekiditeko, kolore desberdinetako egokitze-krisketak zorro banatan datoz, maskara bakoitza pertsonalizatzeko.

Design Challenge
Finding the right materials and printing technology that would allow for a highly accurate production needed for the animation to work.
Research
To bring the virus-eliminating process to life in the packaging, we made use of a century old technique: Moiré Animation – creating an optical illusion of animated frames, with the graphic depiction of a virus getting 'eaten' in the process.
Inspiration
Swiss biotech company Livinguard developed a textile for reusable masks that inactivates bacteria, fungi, and viruses (incl. Covid 19) upon impact.

The product idea is brought to life in the packaging:
The mask comes in a sterile package. An attached plastic strip animates – when slid up and down – a virus that is getting eaten in the process, adding some urgently needed humor in desperate days.
Project Duration
The product was launched in May 2020. Up to date 5 Million masks were produced. Market: China/Worldwide
Operation Flow
The task was to communicate a new, unique product advantage to the consumer via the packaging: that a simple textile can provide protection, every single day.
Patents
Livinguard patented, treated textile
