About Flow Primary Function: Loreontzia

Flow beirazko loreontzi bilduma bat da, beira likidoaren mugimenduan inspiratua. Bildumak hiru forma ditu eta urdinez eta moretez eskaintzen da. Ontzi bakoitza ahoz putz eginda eta eskuz moldatuta dago, ondoren sinatua eta zenbakitua, beraz pieza bakoitzak bere kolore-eredu propioa darama beira-geruzen barruan. Altuerak 90 eta 250 milimetro artekoak dira. Finlandiako beira-putz teknika tradizionalek koloreari geruzen artean askatasunez mugitzen uzten diote. Helburua eguneroko barnealdeetan lasaitasuna eta argi-itzalen jokoa ekartzea da.

Production Technology
Flow Collection mixes Scandinavian cool with capricious Finnish glass blowing techniques that allow color flow freely within the glass layers. Collection has three shapes and the design is available in blue and purple. Vessels are mouth blown and shaped by hand, signed and numbered. Made in Mafka&Alakoski Glass Studio, Finland.
Design Challenge
The creative challenge of the project is to use color in an abstract way and still create harmoniouss impressions. The glass making process of the collection is mixing multiple traditional glass blowing techniques in a fresh and new way.
Research
The Flow Collection experiments with the contrasting nature of the medium. How thick and voluminous glass can look weightless and how the optics of the medium influence the movement of color.
Inspiration
Flow Collection brings 3D perspective into abstract brush strokes. The inspiration of the Collection flows from the Scandinavian aesthetics and a sense of beauty. A simplified shape can become multi-dimensional in glass medium; There is the visual layer of glass: how does the glass reflect, how will the colors look in different light. Above all there are also the historical layers of glass and the rare knowledge behind the craftsmanship.
Project Duration
The project was started in January 2021 in Riihimaki, Finland. Exhibited in Hong Kong 2021.
Operation Flow
The design philosophy of the collection is to create objects that bring serenity into our everyday life. The moment when a studio made vessel is used is special. When light is gleaming trough the glass, the shadow of the piece comes alive reflecting the inner color play.
