About Luzern Sukalde Tresnak
Luzern eguneroko sukaldaritzarako diseinatutako sukalde-tresna sorta bat da. Tresna bakoitza pieza bakar batean eratuta dago, muntaia-urratsak ezabatuz eta materiala nahiz eskulana murriztuz. Materiala beira-zuntzez indartutako polipropilenoa da, zurruntasuna, iraunkortasuna eta elikagaien segurtasuna kontuan hartuta hautatua. Tresnak 210 gradu Celsiusera arte bero-erresistenteak dira, eta itsasgaitzak diren zartaginak eta lapikoak ez marrazteko nahikoa bigunak dira. Pieza bakoitzak 325 bider 110 bider 95 milimetro neurtzen ditu, eta 38 eta 58 gramo bitartean pisatzen du. Kirtenak heldulekurako erosotasuna ematen duen eran diseinatuta daude.

- Design Challenge
- There was not much of a research challenge for this project since kitchen utensils have been around for a very long time. Also, in terms of manufacturing and materials, the choice to us glass-reinforced PP was straight forward. PP is commonly used, food-safe has excellent properties and reinforced with glass, has the stiffness needed for the job.
- Research
- The initial design phase was straight forward since the client knew exactly what kitchen utensils he wanted. We also knew from the beginning that we needed them to be in injection-molded plastic, requiring zero assembly steps.
Based on this simple design brief, we focused our research on different ergonomic handle options, while fine-tuning the material properties. It helped that the tooling and production would be handled in Germany, which is known for very high-quality manufacturing. - Inspiration
- In essence, our goal was to create a one-piece design for each utensil which would be stiff enough for daily use, while also being ergonomic in its use. Usually, this would not be much of a difficulty when using metal as a base material. But since this was supposed to be a budget-line of utensils, plastics were the obvious choice. To achieve stiffness while maintaining excellent ergonomics, we had to reinforce standard PP material with glass filler, while paying most attention to the sculpting.
- Project Duration
- The project lasted from April 2017 until July 2017 in Hong Kong
- Operation Flow
- If you love to cook, you only want to use the best tools available. And if you own expensive non-stick pans and pots, then metal utensils are out of the question. Only soft kitchen utensils made of plastic or wood, help prevent scratches. But if you want something light, stiff, ergonomic and durable, then Luzern kitchen utensils are the right choice. Not only do they avoid scratching your expensive pans and pots, but they also fit perfectly in your hand.
