About Coastline میز
متن کتاب: کوستلاین میزی است که از افزایش سطح آب دریاها بر اثر گرمایش زمین الهام گرفته شده است. رویه میز از جنس آکریلیک، که با نام پی‌ام‌ام‌ای نیز شناخته می‌شود، ساخته شده و با حرارت‌دهی در دمای بالا شکل داده شده تا آب شفاف دریا را تداعی کند. سازه نگه‌دارنده از چوب میشیلیا کامپرسا و کاج ساخته شده است و این چوب نشان‌دهنده ارتفاع کوه‌ها است. چوب سخت برای این منظور انتخاب شده تا سازه در طول فرآیند حرارت‌دهی دچار تغییر شکل نشود. لبه ناهموار میز، خط ساحلی فرسایش‌یافته توسط دریا را به یاد می‌آورد و ترکیب مواد به‌کار رفته، امکان عبور لایه‌ای نور را فراهم می‌کند. ابعاد این میز ۳۵۰ میلی‌متر عرض، ۶۵۰ میلی‌متر عمق و ۵۰۰ میلی‌متر ارتفاع است.

- Unique Properties
- The clearness of the sea is represented by liquid acrylic, and the height of the mountain is mainly wood, creating a combination of different materials that echoes the light of the layers.

- Production Technology
- The table top is mainly made of PMMA, and the table is mainly made of michelia compressa and Pine.
- Design Challenge
- Liquid acrylic material is selected as the table top. Liquid acrylic shaping requires high-temperature heating. Therefore, hard wood is selected so that it will not deform during heating.
Considering the above, in the end, the desktop wood is chosen to use the hard texture Michelia compressa wood.
Liquid acrylic color grading is also one of the big challenges. It takes a lot of time for each test to get the best color and transmittance. - Inspiration
- Taking the rising sea level caused by global warming as the starting point, the coastline was eroded by the seawater and showed an uneven appearance, making the table more layered.
- Project Duration
- The project started in January 2017 in Taiwan. And finished in June 2017 in Taiwan. And was exhibited in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in June 2017. For the second time in Taipei Pavilion of fashion in November 2019.
- Operation Flow
- This is a table with good light transmission and beauty.
