About Kodama Bar Stool چهارپایه بار
چهارپایه بار کوداما یک نشیمن چوبی است که برای استفاده در کانترها و بارها طراحی شده است. طراحی این اثر رویکردی جاپاندی را دنبال می‌کند و ظاهری زمینی و ارگانیک دارد. تضاد میان چوب گردو و چوب سیب، اتصالات چوبی اصیل را که همچنان نمایان مانده‌اند، برجسته می‌سازد. دانش سنتی نجاری با دستگاه روتر CNC ترکیب شده است که امکان ایجاد اتصالاتی با پیچیدگی و دقت بیشتر را فراهم می‌کند. این چهارپایه ۴۵ سانتی‌متر عرض، ۵۴ سانتی‌متر عمق و ۶۶ سانتی‌متر ارتفاع دارد. نام کوداما به معنای روح درخت است و این طراحی ادای احترامی است به چوب به‌عنوان یک ماده تجدیدپذیر.

- Unique Properties
- A subtle Japandi design with a grounded and organic aesthetic. The contrasting Walnut and Applewood highlight the stool's creative and original wood joinery. The Kodama Bar Stool is a blend of ancient techniques with modern technology to create a piece that will hopefully endure for generations, in both construction and design aesthetic.

- Production Technology
- The challenge of this project was devising a method to program the powerful CNC router to delicately manifest the design through complex coding of the toolpaths and precision workholdings of the components on the machine. This innovative process has many more exciting years of refinement ahead as we are just beginning to open the door to a new era of parametric design and manufacturing that will allow human creativity to flourish with these new capabilities.
- Design Challenge
- This is a new field of manufacturing with little education opportunities available so I'm self-taught and continually making everything up as I go. I wake up every day feeling like the luckiest guy in the world to be on this creative adventure.
- Inspiration
- The word Kodama translates to the "spirit of the tree". The intent behind the Kodama Bar Stool is to pay tribute to wood, one of our world's most renewable materials, and to honor the tree that granted us its life's work.
The goal of this project was to combine the knowledge of traditional woodworking with a CNC router to accomplish joinery that was previously unobtainable in complexity and precision. - Project Duration
- The project started in 2016 in the mountains of Colorado and was finished in Southern California in March 2019.

- Visible and honest wood joinery designed to hopefully endure through generations of daily use.
