Tea and Zen on teehuone, joka sijaitsee vanhalla kadulla lähellä Beijing Roadin kävelykatua Guangzhoussa. Rakennus on 4,3 metriä leveä, 20 metriä pitkä ja kolme ja puoli kerrosta korkea. Punaisesta vulkaanisesta kivestä tehty julkisivu avautuu kadulle rauhallisen ja vaatimattoman ilmeen kera. Suorakulmainen sisäpiha ja atrium sijoittuvat pohjapiirroksen yhteen kolmasosaan, ja käytävät kulkevat molemmilla puolilla, jolloin kapea tila avautuu ja saa päivänvaloa, ilmaa ja sadetta. Materiaaleina on käytetty vulkaanista kiveä, herkkää lattiapintaa, kestävää maalia ja puuviilua. Suunnittelu tuo luonnollisen ja rauhallisen tunnelman keskelle kaupunkia.

- Production Technology
- The main materials in this project are volcanic rock, sensitive floor, tinning resistant paint, fanpin wood veneer.
- Design Challenge
- Two houses are close to each other, with windows on the front and back. In such a long and narrow building space, how to design light and air circulation, and reasonable layout, has become the primary design focus point.
- Research
- Whether its "music, chess, calligraphy, painting, poetry, wine, tea" or "firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce and vinegar tea", tea has never been far away from the Chinese people. Born in Guangdong, tea is the most common daily life in the neighborhood of hometown. And pay attention to drinking tea to the extreme, it has become the "tea ceremony". Space and time, water and heat, utensils and temperature, are not the same taste of tea.
- Inspiration
- The designer wants to design a house that feels natural in the city. So a rectangular patio and atrium were designed at one third of the teahouse. There are passageways on both sides of the atrium, which makes the small space flow. In this tea room, you can feel the circulation of the four seasons and the swimming of light, and you can experience the sunshine and the baptism of rain.
- Project Duration
- The project started in December 2019 in Guangzhou and finished in October 2010 in Guangzhou.
- Operation Flow
- The spiritual realm of Taoism is in accordance with the tea's quiet and tranquil character. The teahouse is not really that big. What makes it look big is the shadow, symmetry, long years, loneliness and the cup of tea.
