About Beyond the Blue Livre

Beyond the Blue est un livre consacré aux enjeux environnementaux liés à la mer. Chaque chapitre est introduit par un nuancier de couleur distinct qui révèle un visage différent de l'océan. Un aplat vert évoque une forêt marine en bonne santé, tandis qu'un aplat rouge renvoie à une mer assombrie par le sang des baleines. La couleur est utilisée comme un moyen simple et universel d'expliquer des sujets environnementaux complexes à des lecteurs de tous âges. L'ouvrage mesure 187 mm sur 245 mm et compte 90 pages. L'impression est réalisée à l'encre à base d'huile de soja sur un papier mat de 100 g, et la reliure cousue au fil limite l'usage de colle.

Unique Properties: Published in honor of World Ocean Day, this book deals with environmental issues related to the sea. It is a feature of this book to introduce various looks of the sea through the distinguishing colors of each chapter. For example, the green color chip symbolizes a healthy sea forest, while the red color chip shows dark side of a sea filled with whale blood. Like this, the color chips introduced in each chapter are used to express the bright and dark side of the sea symbolically.
Dimensions & Packaging: This book is 187mm wide and 245mm long and has 90 pages.

Production Technology: This book was printed on soybean oil ink with low environmental pollution on 100g matte paper and thread bound to reduce bond usage.
Design Challenge: The color chips introduced in each chapter symbolically illustrate environmental problems. so we had to be careful about expression.
Research: Looking at the lengthy brochures related to the sea, we felt the need to communicate the importance of the sea in an easy way. This book presents difficult environmental issues simply and intuitively by using a variety of colors.
Inspiration: Looking at the sea at sunset, we found that the sea was not always blue. In fact, the colors of the sea are very diverse depending on the time, place and situation. We thought it would be interesting to introduce the various issues of the ocean through colors.
Project Duration: The project started from April 2018 and finished in May 2019. The design is done in Seoul, production in Seoul.
Operation Flow: The target group is readers of all ages interested in the sea. Color is a universal material that makes it easy and intuitive for all ages to understand environmental issues related to the sea.
