About Escape Hûs

Escape House is in bysûnder en ûnferwachte betonnen hûs yn'e typyske stêd. De betsjutting fan it Escape House is meardudens. It hat in monolityske en sletten foarm oan'e strjitside, wylst it in iepen útsicht op it bosk biedt. 'E' betsjut oars. It hûs makket in oar stêdsbyld, en de fersprong-flier struktuer soarget foar ferskate romte-ûnderfiningen en dramatyske útsichten lykas in panoramysk bosútsicht fanút de wenkeamer. Escape House is ús úteinlike bestimming om te ûntkomme oan it gewoane deistich libben.

Unique Properties: Our intention of the design is to make an unusual and unexpected concrete house in the typical town. The meaning of the E-scape house is ambiguous. ‘E’ means different. The house makes different scenery in the city, and residents can experience various views from the inside of the house, such as a panoramic view from the living room. Home is our final destination of escaping from ordinary daily life.
Dimensions & Packaging: Site area: 225.60m2/Building area:185.9m2/Gross Floor area: 328.00m2/Height: 9.5m
Tags: Mysterious, Secret, Monolithic, Strange,
Production Technology: Reinforced concrete structure with silver cloud stone finishes
Inspiration: This house was inspired by the song La Villa Strangiato by Rush. The house’s first design idea was to design an unfamiliar place in the typical suburban house town. The facade from the street is massive and inappropriate with the surroundings. This sudden and embarrassing form makes this house a mysterious place. We are enjoying the astonishing, which is the result of understanding diversity.
Project Duration: The project started in March 2019 and finished in October 2020. It locates in Pohang Korea
Operation Flow: Escape house works as a living platform. It is a multilayer space for everyday life. The central staircase, which connects floors in half level, is not just for moving but for sitting and chatting under the skylight. The rooftop, which is open to the woods, is the ultimate outdoor activity under the COVID-19 situation.
