About K11 Art Mall Retail Ynterieurûntwerp
K11 Art Mall is in retail ynterieurûntwerp yn Wuhan, Sina. It projekt feroaret in tweintich jier âld waarhûs yn in keunstwinkelsintrum fan fjouwer podiumnivo's en in totale oerflakte fan 34.000 kante meter. Fertikaliteit stjoert de retailplanning, en fertikale lânmerken tegearre mei lânmerken spesifyk foar elke ferdjipping stimulearje besikers om nei boppen te gean en te ûntdekken. In eksterne brêge ferbynt it winkelsintrum mei in oanswettend winkelsintrum. In stielen konstruksje foeget nije lagen ta binnen it besteande betongebou, wylst glêsfezelfersterke gips en lamineare glês de kleurrike romten foarmje.

- Unique Properties
- A huge success since opening, K11 Wuhan in China proves that bricks-and-mortar retail can thrive with the right amenity-driven design, an inherent sense of fun and an eye on the future.
Verticality was one of the driving ideas behind the retail planning, encouraging visitors to go upward and explore. We achieved this by strategically placing vertical landmarks as well as floor specific landmarks throughout the mall, and also connecting to the adjacent mall via an external bridge. - Dimensions & Packaging
- The total area is 34,000sq.m. with 4 levels of podium levels.

- Production Technology
- The existing building construction is a concrete structure, the renovation has been using steel structure to create additional layers in the building. Fiberglass reinforced gypsum and laminated glass are used to create the colorful spaces.
- Design Challenge
- Convert from an old department store with constraints from the existing built structure
- Inspiration
- Our tongue-in-cheek approach– a shopaholic’s dream – transformed this 20-year-old department store into an ‘art mall’ worthy of the K11 brand’s portfolio. The mall be the star attraction rather than the stores with every inch of space being used, we’ve designed the mall to have an ‘Easter egg’ type of surprise in every corner. The sci-fi-inspired blue technology chamber lets visitors get lost in a world full of their favourite tech products, with pop-up stores and seasonal themes throughout.
- Project Duration
- Project Duration: 2014 - 2020
Location: Wuhan, China - Operation Flow
- The project was closed down for renovation. We were first required to observe the new building regulation and upgrade the space up to the latest standard. We did several mockups to test the materials and spaces if they are functional and provide an experience for people's enjoyment.
