Oer The National Gallery Visuele Identiteit

De National Gallery is in visuele identiteit ûntwurpen foar de nasjonale keunstgalery yn Londen. De identiteit ferfangt in logo dat allinnich út typografy bestie troch in ûnderskiedend grafysk merkteken. It nije logo is in dûbele L-liist foarme troch sân linen. De sân linen ferwize nei de skilderijekolleksje, dy't rint fan de 13e oant de 19e ieu. It logo bliuwt lêsber by in minimale breedte fan 0,75 inch. It wurdmerk lit de klam falle op Londen om de sichtberens yn online sykopdrachten te ferbetterjen. It doel is om de galery wrâldwiid better werkenber te meitsjen.

Unike Eigenskippen
The National Gallery (London) brand redesign is to move beyond the typography-only logo and elevate the institution's visibility and international recognition as a national art gallery. The new logo, a double “L” frame composed of seven lines, represents the collection's paintings spanning the 13th to 19th centuries. The museum's mission is to preserve and enrich this distinct collection, offering a unique view of art history.
Ofmjittingen & Ferpakking
The minimum size requirement for the logo is 0.75 inches wide or smaller.

Produksjetechnology
I began by researching the history of The National Gallery, identifying key themes and concepts that best represent the institution. Subsequently, I engaged in brainstorming sessions and ideation, continuously refining the logo design to ensure it encapsulated the essence of the institute. My aim was to craft a logo that resonated with the values and identity of The National Gallery.
Untwerpútdaging
Transform a typography-based logo into an iconic logo.
Undersyk
The National Gallery holds significant historical value, housing Western painting collections from the 13th to the 19th centuries. It distinguishes itself from the Tate museum, which focuses on art collections from the 19th century onwards, particularly emphasizing classic aesthetics. While most national galleries highlight initials or architectural features in their logos, The National Gallery's architecture lacks distinctiveness. Hence, I opted to integrate painting elements into the logo, accentuating its unique focus on paintings. The addition of seven lines and framing elements further enhances the logo's representation of The National Gallery. Additionally, we decided to remove "The" and add "London" to improve online visibility, as search results often prioritize galleries from other countries over the London-based institution. We envision the final logo to preserve the classic characteristics of the National Gallery while giving it a more modern direction for global promotion.
Ynspiraasje
The remarkable painting collection housed at The National Gallery inspired my mission to boost its global recognition. Upon noticing that online searches often led users to other National Galleries, I saw an opportunity to rebrand and increase its distinctiveness. Drawing from its extensive painting collection, I sought to infuse this essence into the logo design. My goal was to ensure that the logo immediately resonated with visitors as belonging to The National Gallery.
