About Corcovado Bank

Corcovado is in bank ûntwurpen foar wenromten. De foarm is ynspirearre troch de heuvels fan Corcovado en folget in organyske, floeiende line. De rêchleuning rint troch oant it midden fan de sitting en slút dêr omhinne. In ûnderstel mei lange houten kanten rint lâns it stik as stipe. De ôfwurkingen omfetsje hout en stoffen. De bank is 4,8 meter breed, 0,92 meter heech en 1,9 meter djip. Fjouwer dekorative kessens binne ynbegrepen, sadat elke eigner it komfort en it uterlik nei eigen smaak oanpasse kin. It ûntwerp kombinearret in skulpturale foarm mei ergonomysk komfort.

Production Technology
Every detail of the Corcovado Sofa is designed to connect, to express a narrative where form follows function, and both follow fantasy. With it, Victor Leite reaffirms his position as a product designer and brand curator in the high decoration segment. The sofa is a testament to his commitment not only to aesthetics and comfort, but also to the idea that a design object should inspire, should speak to the space and to those who inhabit it.
Design Challenge
The most difficult part of the design of the Corcovado Sofa was to balance aesthetic innovation with ergonomics. The creative challenge was to create a sculptural piece inspired by nature without sacrificing comfort. Obstacles included material and technology limitations for shaping complex shapes, as well as adjusting the design to meet ergonomic standards. External factors, such as production technologies and material availability, also influenced the final choices.
Research
The design research of the Corcovado Sofa was qualitative, aiming to create a piece of furniture that combined sculptural form with comfort. Interviews, 3D prototypes and ergonomic tests were used. Participants included users and design experts. The results showed the need for adjustments in the structure. The insights revealed the value of organic aesthetics in functionality. The research impacted design, promoting innovation and meeting market and social demands.
