About The Last Blooming Fabraicí Ilfheidhmeacha

Chun tuiscint a fháil ar rud éigin treascartha go loighciúil, chun iniúchadh simplí a dhéanamh ar an ngaol idir tús agus deireadh le sainmhíniú atá cosúil le casta, is iad na bláthanna marbha an príomhábhar chun an borradh beoga a chur in iúl. Fanann siad faoi bhláth agus léiríonn siad an áilleacht deiridh. Tugann an t-athrá chomhchuí agus na móitífeanna bríomhara níos mó léiriú féideartha don leagan amach. Na fabraicí sraitheanna dúbailte, is é an barr chiffon agus is é an cúl cadás, cruthaigh an t-aistriú ag breathnú nuair a thagann an ghaoth. Cuireann cuma trédhearcach chiffón le The Last Blooming níos tarraingtí agus níos mistéireach.

Unique Properties
Some of them decayed naturally, and some of them were processed by HEAT PRESSED. By pushing bloomings to die, the fluid would be squeezed out of the stems and petals, and the melting botanic bodies would represent the rich colors of death beauty.
Besides that, the fresh green and goldenrod colors in the broadleaf depict the decomposition process. The musty mushroom with bloated ripe caps turned black and liquefied, playing a role in the decay through its fungus. the white fluff enhances the musty feeling.

Production Technology
From design materials to print-out fabrics, the harmonious repeat and vibrant motifs give the layout more potential expression. The double layers fabrics, the top is chiffon and the back is cotton, create the shift looking when the wind comes. The transparent looking of chiffon contributes to THE LAST BLOOMING more attractive and mysterious.
Design Challenge
The Hardest Part of this design is the material choice. I have tried more than 50 different materials to test how the artwork represents the "Death Beauty". And for the fabrics. I tried cotton canvas, polyester, and silk. Finally, I found out this textured cotton and polyester chiffon can give the transparent looking and soft hand feel.

Inspiration
Inspired by Billy Kidd, who showed a heat-pressed flower with a flat decomposing effect. The relationship between started and finished became the starting point.
Inspired by the taphonomy, there are five general stages used to describe the process of decomposition, fresh, bloat, active, advanced decay, and dry/remains. By breaking up the body and analyzing its components, the decaying yet preserved, pressed flowers and leaves have an aged and textural appearance that can be used for designs. Yes, The picture of Death can be the birth of Beauty.
Project Duration
The project started in Jan 2015 in Philadelphia and finished in May 2021 in New York.
Operation Flow
To grasp something logically subversive, to turn a seemingly complex definition into a simple exploration of the relationship between "started and finished", the dead flowers become my main material to express the vivid blooming. They are still staying to bloom and show the final beauty in the double layers chiffon fabrics. The harmonious repeat and vibrant motifs give the layout more potential expression. The transparent looking contributes attractive and mysterious.
