About Kodama Bar Stool Suíochán Beáir
Is suíochán adhmaid é an Kodama Bar Stool atá deartha lena úsáid ag cuntair agus beáir. Leanann an dearadh cur chuige Japandi le cuma bhunaithe agus orgánach. Léiríonn cnó gallda agus adhmad úll i gcodarsnacht le chéile an tsiúinéireacht adhmaid bhunaidh, a fhanann le feiceáil. Tá eolas traidisiúnta ar adhmadóireacht comhcheangailte le rúitéir CNC, rud a cheadaíonn siúinéireacht atá níos casta agus níos beaichte. Tomhaiseann an stól 45 cm ar leithead, 54 cm ar doimhneacht agus 66 cm ar airde. Ciallaíonn an t-ainm Kodama spiorad an chrainn, agus tugann an dearadh ómós don adhmad mar ábhar in-athnuaite.

- Production Technology
- The challenge of this project was devising a method to program the powerful CNC router to delicately manifest the design through complex coding of the toolpaths and precision workholdings of the components on the machine. This innovative process has many more exciting years of refinement ahead as we are just beginning to open the door to a new era of parametric design and manufacturing that will allow human creativity to flourish with these new capabilities.
- Design Challenge
- This is a new field of manufacturing with little education opportunities available so I'm self-taught and continually making everything up as I go. I wake up every day feeling like the luckiest guy in the world to be on this creative adventure.
- Inspiration
- The word Kodama translates to the "spirit of the tree". The intent behind the Kodama Bar Stool is to pay tribute to wood, one of our world's most renewable materials, and to honor the tree that granted us its life's work.
The goal of this project was to combine the knowledge of traditional woodworking with a CNC router to accomplish joinery that was previously unobtainable in complexity and precision. - Project Duration
- The project started in 2016 in the mountains of Colorado and was finished in Southern California in March 2019.
- Operation Flow
- Visible and honest wood joinery designed to hopefully endure through generations of daily use.
