About Nha Nhim Áras-cuairteoireachta

Is foirgneamh áras-cuairteoireachta é Nha Nhim i nDa Lat, Vítneam. Tá an suíomh cúng thart ar 8 méadar ar leithead agus i bhfad níos faide, le tír-raon éagothrom agus ithir lag. Tógtar gach eilimint in airde chun an spás maireachtála a leathnú agus chun radhairc i dtreo an ghleanna a oscailt. Bailítear ábhair dhramhaíola ón gceantar agus úsáidtear iad arís ar fud an fhoirgnimh. Tugtar saol nua do choirt, do bhrainsí agus do bhlocanna coincréite tástála, agus déantar athchúrsáil ar fhuíoll ó mhonarchana teicstíle áitiúla i bpáirteanna éagsúla den fhoirgneamh. Cuireann díon mór fána cosc ar ghaoth fhuar na hoíche agus ligeann sé do leoithní fionnuara dul thart i rith an lae.

Production Technology
Barks, branches, test concrete blocks were the materials that we gave them a new life in this project.
Design Challenge
The site challenged the architects with its narrow and prolonging parameters, where the length significantly overshadowed the 8-meter width. The terrain is extremely bad with undulating, uneven terrain, weak soil, which can cause landslides.
Research
Although we exploited a lot of things inside, we still kept the harmony with the context by using the traditional materials. Instead of neighboring buildings, Nha Nhim Homestay was lifted entire all of the elements to solve the problems such as: expanded the living space, created green space and circulation space for the narrow area. It also opened the view to the valley, not prevented by near buildings.
Inspiration
During the field trips to Dalat, we had to drive around to listen to local stories and what the local resource offered us. We found so much potential in waste materials from the area. Therefore we decided to collect and upcycle them. For instance, waste materials from local textile factories were classified and recycled into different parts. External wood cells were reused in ceiling modules and fences were made of tree branches.
Project Duration
The project started construction & operation in 2017 in Da Lat, Viet Nam
Operation Flow
The purpose of the project was a building not only stay but also business. The project included the main house and additional tubins. One of the most difficult we have to solve was the weather which was really cold in Da Lat. We created a big slope roof to avoid cold wind in the night but still received cool breezes in hot weather during the day. Moreover, we divided the project into several small elements to have good ventilation, natural sun light, reducing the use of artificial energy, causing harm to the environment.
