About Karloca Óstán
Is óstán é Karloca a dearadh mar ionad comhdhála agus folláine do lucht taistil gnó agus do theaghlaigh. Tá seacht leibhéal san fhoirgneamh agus achar glan 15,000 méadar cearnach ann, ina bhfuil forsheomra, beár, limistéar folláine, limistéar sauna agus seomraí aíonna. Roinneann na feidhmeanna pobail spás mór oscailte amháin, áit a léiríonn athruithe fíneálta ábhair teorainn gach limistéir. Feidhmíonn mais dhealbhóireachta sa bhforsheomra mar chaife Turcach agus tugann sé stair áitiúil chun cuimhne. Cruthaíonn ábhair dhúchasacha amha an chlúdach seachtrach, agus coimeádann dromchlaí móra gloine na spásanna inmheánacha geal.

Behind the Design
Press Kit
Credits, team members and technical details provided by the designer.
- Unique Properties
- The main goal was to create a conference and wellness centre suitable for businessmen and families. Community functions are accommodated in a large space with an organic flow in which the boundaries of each area are indicated by subtle changes of the material used. In the lobby of the hotel, a sculpture-like mass has been placed in a space. In terms of its function, the place serves as a Turkish cafe and has been created to symbolize the local historic past as embedded in a design concept.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- This building has 7 levels that include all functions (like wellness, lobby, bar, sauna world, rooms etc.) The net area: 15.000 m2

- Production Technology
- BIM technology was applied in the planning process, based on British Standard Institute's ISO certification of Lima Architecture and Interior Design. Raw and native-born materials were used primarily, to fit the natural environment, this reflects on the building's external cladding as well. The reflection and ambient of the hotel is designed to fit to a close-to-nature world, with a twist of using high quality materials only, natural colours and shapes.
- Design Challenge
- It was very important to find the right, high-quality materials to further elevate the quality of the building.
- Research
- During the design phase the demand was raised that the hotel's lobby should also function as a meeting point for the businessmen staying here who, occasionally, can even hold their meetings and customer receptions here as well.
- Inspiration
- We wanted to use the beauty of nature and create a hotel where guests could relax in a pleasant environment. The hotel has been designed with high quality materials.
- Project Duration
- The planning process started in 2020 in Budapest and we got the construction permit in 2021 in Serbia, Karlovci. The town of Sremski Karlovci is located in Vojvodina, Serbia.
- Operation Flow
- The goal was to definitively have a central core, a lobby, and that the community and private functions should appear clearly separated from each other. Thus the functional units have been combined with visual solutions. The use of huge glass surfaces has allowed the areas to become particularly bright and sunny.
