About Toke Sgeilp-leabhraichean Sgeadachail

'S e sgeilp-leabhraichean sgeadachail airson uachdar bùird a th' ann an Toke, air a dealbhadh airson àiteachan taobh a-staigh. Tha cruinne fiodh-teile lìomhte le trast-thomhas de 16 ceudameatairean na shuidhe aig meadhan an deilbh agus tha e ag obair mar thaic agus mar phuing cothromachaidh aig an aon àm. Gluaisidh an cruinne le iom-tharraing agus cumaidh e na leabhraichean ann an òrdugh. Tha am frèam air a dhèanamh de shlat mheatailt a chaidh a lùbadh gu sònraichte agus de phlàta meatailt gheàrrte, air an ceangal le tàthadh agus air an crìochnachadh le peant pùdair dealan-statach. Tha Toke 18 ceudameatairean a dh'àirde, 49 ceudameatairean a leud agus 16.5 ceudameatairean a dhoimhneachd. Tha an cruth sìmplidh freagarrach airson seòmraichean-suidhe, seòmraichean-cadail, taighean-bìdh, cafaidhean agus bùthan.

Design Challenge
Selecting and processing the appropriate natural material, polishing it to the correct color after processing. Selecting the correct metal sheet and rod, and joining them together after bending and cutting methods.
Research
When designing Toke, it was crucial to select the right material for the sphere at its center. We debated extensively between beech, hornbeam, or walnut. Because exotic woods are generally expensive, we settled on linden, which was readily available locally. Its soft texture made it easy to work with and polish.

For the metal, we strived to select dimensions and thicknesses that could be easily machined on cnc and bending machines. We then engaged local craftsmanship and assembled the parts using welding.

We tried to evaluate different color options for the metal part. We chose both electrostatic paint and gold and silver plating as alternative methods.
Inspiration
Toke's story is built on the theme of "Balance point and the flow of knowledge." Toke acts as a bridge, holding, displaying, and elegantly balancing precious information (books). The wooden sphere, the central element of the design, forms the weight and focal point of the entire system, creating an illusion of gravity by balancing the books' position. This reflects the idea that knowledge is a central force that keeps our minds and lives in balance.
Project Duration
The project began in istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2025. The first prototype was released in May 2025. Mass production began in July 2025.
Operation Flow
The sphere in Toke moves thanks to gravity and balances the books on it, ensuring they stay in order.
