About Qwerty Leaba-shòfa
Is e leaba-shòfa a th' ann an QWERTY air a chumadh mar mheur-chlàr coimpiutair. Tha gach iuchair a' cruthachadh cluasag bhog a chuidicheas an neach-cleachdaidh fhad 's a bhios iad ag obair san oifis no aig an taigh. Bidh meanbh-motaran dealain, air an stiùireadh le aonad-fhad às, a' gleusadh gach cluasag iuchrach gu neo-eisimeileach, gus an gabh cumadh ùr a thoirt don uachdar gu lèir. Tha an t-inneal-stiùiridh a' tabhann deich roghainnean ro-shuidhichte, agus faodar barrachd roghainnean a chur ris. Faodar QWERTY a chleachdadh mar shòfa, mar leabaidh, no mar thaic a tha gu tur air a gnàthachadh. Tha an dealbhadh a' tionndadh ìomhaigh làitheil a tha eòlach dhuinn uile gu àirneis sùbailte, le suathadh aotrom de sgeigearachd.

- Unique Properties
- Sooner or later, we all end up by falling asleep on our computer’s keyboard. Turning the archetypal image of a keyboard into a sofa bed, QWERTY holds you on its soft keys while working in the office or at home, bringing a pinch of irony in our daily life. Anyway QWERTY is much more than a sofa bed. Thanks to micro electric motors controlled by a remote control, every single keycushion is adjustable to give total freedom. In this way, the furniture becomes a unique and comfortable support.

- Production Technology
- stainless steel AISI 304, multi density polymer, artificial waterproof and flame retardant leather, electrical and software equipment, latest generation gel batteries.
- Design Challenge
- The challenge was including such an out of the ordinary functionality in an object that is so familiar to us. The effect that comes from that is a trasfert, between man and object.
- Research
- I wanted to focus on the user experience and try to combine a functional tool and an image archetype in order to produce an innovative object that guarantees flexibility and functionality, while keeping that familiarity of the object we're used to seeing. By using these familiar images, creating a hybrid of parallel world and languages, we decontextualize these forms and give them new meaning and make our lives better. The object fulfills its task by being innovative, not technological.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration for QWERTY came from the many times I have fallen asleep on my keyboard. Thus, it became natural to make the keyboard more comfortable. The natural disposition of a keyboard did the rest and made qwerty the extremely adjustable surface it is.
- Project Duration
- The project was created in 2012 in Teramo, and has won:
IDA Gold winner 2013 in the category of the professional home interior products and the subcategory of interior furniture;
Red Dot Award Design Concept 2016 in the category of furniture. - Operation Flow
- The sofa is flexible, each key is adjustable via a special remote. The remote has 10 per-programed settings, but more can be added. Qwerty can become a bed, a sofa, a completely customizeable surface.
