Texto do libro: Truescan é un escáner intraoral tridimensional empregado na práctica dental. O dispositivo rexistra a estrutura oral en tempo real, de xeito que o dentista pode examinar e xestionar os dentes dun paciente sen necesidade de materiais de impresión convencionais. A punta de escaneo mantense pequena e arredondada, sen bordos afiados, para que a entrada na boca sexa segura. O corpo mide 280 por 34 por 36 milímetros e está deseñado para permitir o escaneo cunha soa man. O botón sitúase na parte inferior da superficie traseira para facilitar o seu manexo. Todas as pezas están fabricadas en ABS, seleccionado pola súa seguridade biolóxica.

Unique Properties: The 3D dental scanner is a digital device that allows you to use impression materials to make a tooth-bone in the existing dentist's office and send it directly to the public office or design it directly from the dentist's office.

Production Technology: Main body, all parts are ABS, and also suitable for biological safety.
Design Challenge: Since the oral scanner used in dentistry is an instrument that investigates the patient's mouth, it was important to reflect the size and depth so that the oral cavity can be investigated safely and without risk. Starting with a basic survey on the human body of various sizes and teeth of the oral cavity, we tried to develop the most ergonomic and universal oral medical device based on the professional findings of dentist.
Research: We collected various opinions through stakeholders from dentists and marketing and clinical personnel who are medical staff and reflected them in the design concept. In addition, the self-produced and analyzed medical device design trend over the past 14 years was referenced.
Inspiration: It is designed in consideration of human-centered design because it is a medical device that directly touches and uses the patient's oral cavity. In the case of tips that go directly into the patient's oral cavity, the size is as small as possible, the main body, the grip was important in a form that was easy to scan the entire mouth while holding it with one hand, and it was designed so that there was no problem in operating even if the button part was placed behind the main body.
Project Duration: Design project started in March 2021 and finished in December 2021 in Seoul, Korea
Operation Flow: Oral scanner is a dental diagnostic device with the latest technology based on 3D high-speed scanning method and image implementation software. A dentist is a medical device that can diagnose and manage the patient's oral structure immediately by moving a scanner into the patient's mouth in real time and filming it.
