- Unique Properties
- Yes Thai is pays tribute to the modern and the traditional, entwining the commonalities and differences between the two into a distinctively fresh design and creating an atmosphere that simply feels alive.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- The visual identity, designed by JUKE Creative Design, uses abstract silhouettes of tropical vegetable and fruit, conjuring the feeling of relaxing on the beach and listening to the sounds of the waves.
The bar area, serving mixed drinks to both inside and outside seating areas, stays true to the overarching brand identity, decorated with silhouettes of tropical fruit, white paint, and stainless steel framing.
The brand identity is designed using an open framework, displaying the contrast between brightness and shadow, while also maintaining the vibrancy of open space. - Tags

- Production Technology
- The entrance is decorated with a pure black mosaic, serving as a subtle backdrop that draws attention to the Yes Thai logo, which incorporate s elements of the Thai language through the curled edges of the letters Y, T, and I. The lounge area complete with a sofa, chairs, and tropical plants adds to the overall modern vibe of the restaurant.
The abstract black and white pattern that covers the floor is also reflected in the ceiling. The LED lights augment the unconventional look of the reflected pattern by illuminating it with a purple glow. Curving LED lights wind across the entire surface of the ceiling, evoking an image of lights dancing on the surface of the Menam River in Thailand.
A slanted ceiling covers the seating area, decorated with the faint shadows of trees, makes diners feel as if they are enveloped under the canopy of a river cruise.
Bright blue lights form the sentence Same, same, but different, a sentence all too familiar to anyone who has travelled to Thailand. - Design Challenge
- How to pay tribute to the modern and the traditional, entwining the commonalities and differences between the two into a distinctively fresh design and creating an atmosphere that simply feels alive.
- Inspiration
- Hejidesign used a black and white backdrop to define the overall style of the restaurant, while also integrating Southeast Asian elements, combining modern and traditional Thai styles to create a young and vibrant atmosphere.
A simple black, white and grey color scheme gives a nod to the modern attitude of a minimalistic lifestyle, and is consistent with the current trend towards natural foods and unpolluted spaces. - Project Duration
- The project started in December 2019 and finished in May 2020 in Shenzhen.
