About Undulating Flow Primary Function: Zayyanar Cikin Gida na Zama

Book Text: Undulating Flow wani zayyanin cikin gida ne na wani gida mai girman murabba'in mita 165 a birnin Taichung, Taiwan. Tsarin ya haɗa da babban ɗakin kwana mai gidan wanka na kansa, wani ɗakin tatami irin na Japan, ɗakin zama, ɗakin karatu, kicin da baranda uku. Rufin katako mai lanƙwasa da yake tunatar da tsaunuka masu nisa, kuma kafet mai ruwan toka da baƙi mai kalaɓen ya haɗa da shi. Bangayen ja masu ƙyalli tare da ƙofofin zamewa baƙi masu ƙyalli sun kewaye ɗakin sauya tufafi. An shirya gidan don nuna zane-zane da kayayyakin da masu shi suka tattara a lokacin tafiye-tafiyensu.

Unique Properties: The space was designed around three themes, gold touches for grandeur and stateliness, a safari and zoo animals with lion and giraffe favorites in particular, and the extension of the undulating distant mountains in the design of the ceiling. Traditional Chinese touches with Buddha statuettes and a section of the space enclosed within red lacquer walls with black lacquer sliding doors: modern meets traditional Japanese.
Dimensions & Packaging: The entire apartment totals 165m2 divided into one master bedroom with an en suite, one Japanese style tatami room with a half bath, a living room, study, and kitchen. The apartment also features three balconies and one enclosed outdoor laundry area.

Production Technology: In addition to a spectacular chandelier set in an ornamental molded ceiling in the walk in closet and dressing room, the apartment features subdued, tasteful modern fixtures, leather sofas and bold black tufted leather seating in the foyer, and a tufted Tiffany blue leather headboard in the master. Collectible art is highlighted in the design including a golden Belgian grandfather clock, several small sculptures, Buddhas and other collectibles.
Design Challenge: The designer was faced with creating multiple themes throughout the apartment to highlight the different collectible objects. In the case of the cherub topped highly ornate guilt Belgian grandfather clock, the surrounding space incorporated light grained wood cabinetry and a white marble cherub statuette. On the other hand, opposite the clock a Buddha sits in an alcove flanked by two floor to ceiling cabinets with ornate brass door pulls echoing Asian influence.
Research: The main objective was to create a space that would serve not only as a residence, but a place to display the clients collected art and items from their travels, thus the space was designed around these items. Additionally, as the owner purchased this apartment as an investment, this apartment will have a higher resale value with 4 bedrooms, thus the study can be easily modified as a 4th bedroom as it goes on the market.
Inspiration: Bringing together western and eastern themes tied together with a love of safari animals and artistic animal themed embellishments, this apartment at once feels warm, inviting, yet formal and classical. An undulating wooden beam ceiling brings in touches of nature and waves, while bold furnishings reflect the owner personalities and memorable pieces collected during their travels together.
Project Duration: Finished in 2020 in Taichung City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow: Upon entering this residence, one is greeted with the undulating ceiling echoed in the wavy gray and black carpet like drifting clouds and expansive city and distant mountain views through the large picture frame window. As you enter the living room, a supple leather sectional sofa beckons you. The measured tick tock of the grandfather clock reminds you of the fleeting time. An elegant red and black lacquer enclosed changing room hints of a delicious Japanese bento box.
