About Silence Unuhi ʻŌlelo Peʻa

ʻO Silence kahi unuhi ʻōlelo peʻa i hoʻolālāʻia e kākoʻo i ke kamaʻilio ma waena o nā kānaka kuli a me nā kānaka lohe. Hoʻohuli ka mīkini i ka ʻōlelo peʻa i leo ʻōlelo, a hoʻohuli hoʻi i ka ʻōlelo i ʻōlelo peʻa e hōʻikeʻia ma ke ʻano he kiʻi holographic. ʻO kekahi ʻāpana ʻike neʻe ma ke alo e hopu ana i nā hana lima, a ʻo kekahi ʻāpana ma ke kua e hoʻopaʻa a hoʻokani ana i ka leo. Ma loko o ke kino, i hanaʻia me ka alumini anodized, e hana ʻia ai ka unuhi a me ka hoʻoponopono ʻikepili. He 40 kenimika ka laulā, 40 kenimika ka hohonu, a he 80 kenimika ke kiʻekiʻe o kēia mea ʻano huinahā, no laila kūpono ʻo Silence no nā wahi like ʻole o ka lehulehu.

About the A' Design Award Keleawe

Ua lanakila ka hoʻolālā Silence Unuhi ʻŌlelo Peʻa i ka A' Design Award Keleawe, he ʻike hoʻohanohano nui loa i hāʻawi ʻia i nā hoʻolālā kūʻokoʻa i ʻike ʻia ma o ka hana noʻeau, ka akamai a me ka makakoho. He mau hana mākaukau a hana noʻeau kupaianaha nā lanakila Keleawe e hōʻoia ana i ka ʻike nui, ka noʻonoʻo a me ka maʻalea o kā lākou poʻe hoʻolālā. Manaʻo ʻia ʻo ka hoʻolālā Silence Unuhi ʻŌlelo Peʻa he mea i mahalo nui ʻia, hoʻohiwahiwa ʻia a aloha ʻia, he ʻoihana a hou loa. ʻO kēia hoʻolālā i lanakila i ka A' Design Award Keleawe e hoʻohui ana i nā hana maikaʻi loa o ka hana noʻeau, ka ʻepekema, ka hoʻolālā a me ka ʻenehana, a maikaʻi no kona nānā ʻana i nā kikoʻī. Hoʻokō maikaʻi ka hoʻolālā Silence Unuhi ʻŌlelo Peʻa i nā pono, hoʻopā i ka makemake, hoʻohiwahiwa i nā manaʻo a huki i ka makemake e ʻike.

Unique Properties: Silence is a device which can inter-transfer acoustical signal and sign language. It aims to break the communication barriers between the deaf and the ordinary. Compared with others, this device provides the holographic projection of the translated sign language to help the deaf understand the others. Thus to make the communication faster and easier.
Dimensions & Packaging: The product is a flat rectangle, 40cm long , 40cm wide and 80cm high, the shape is more suitable for a variety of public places. When it’s opened, there’s a screen of holographic projection module.
Tags: Sign Language，Translate，Holographic Projection，Disadvantaged， Voice interaction
Production Technology: The main marital is anodic aluminum oxide. The product has four parts, the front side is module of somatosensory recognition the back side is module of voice playback and recording, the top is module of holographic projection, the inside part is module of language information translation and processing.
Design Challenge: The main problem in the design process is how to capture the sign language action, understand the sign language, transfer sign language to voice, image the voice content, and what is the form of the image, whether the significance of the imaging is accurate etc. Finally，the capture problem is solved by Kinet, the problem of sign language transformation was solved with a complete set of procedures, the imaging problem is solved with a z-type holographic projection imaging device.
Research: Silence is a product designed for people with hearing and language disabled in order to help them to communicate fluently with others through technology of holographic projection, sign language translating, voice transformation, action recognition and capture. Etc. The coming out of Silence breaks through the communication barriers between the deaf and others, makes the communication easier, solves many inconveniences in the their lives
Inspiration: The deaf has lot difficulties in daily communication. Sign language, because of its convenience, is more frequently used than text language, so, a sign language translator device is imperative in the communication between the deaf from different countries. Silence can make the fluent communication come true.
Project Duration: The project started in July 2021 at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts of Shenyang, Liaoning, China, and be completed in October 2021.
Operation Flow: The using process is as follows: the sign language is presented to Silence, Silence translates it into target vioce language to the listeners, after receiving the information, the listeners input the voice message into Silence, after translation processing, Silence outputs sign language, thus, the whole communicating process is completed.
