About Erhu Noho

Erhu he noho i hoʻoulu ʻia mai ka erhu, kahi mea kani kaula kuʻuna Kina. Hoʻohana ke kālai hoʻolālā i ka moʻomeheu lāhui ma ke ʻano he ʻōlelo no nā lako hale hou, a ʻimi hoʻi i kahi ʻano Kina o kēia au. Unique Properties: Inspired by Erhu, a traditional Chinese classical instrument, the design incorporated national culture as a language of modern furniture, exploring a new style of contemporary Chinese furniture.
The structure is so simple that there are only two parts: seat surface and legs. The chair back, seat surface and front leg are made of curved plywood as a whole, and the three dimensional seating space is completed with two dimensional curves fitting the shape of the human body.

Production Technology: The integrated shape of the seat surface, chair back and front leg is completed by pressing the curved plywood in a premade mold.
The surface used ash wood and walnut for veneering. The legs are made of walnut.
Design Challenge: The abstract timbre of Chinese classical Musical Instruments is interpreted in a figurative and modern style，On the basis of inheriting and developing traditional Chinese culture and craft, it used modern bentwood technology to make furniture with contemporary Chinese style.he structure is so simple that there are only two parts: seat surface and legs.

Inspiration: The design is inspired by Erhu, a traditional Chinese instrument. Erhu’s unique timbre is presented in the form of seats by interpreting the intangible with the tangible.
