He mea lako hale kiʻi mokuahana ʻo Fractal 9, e hoʻohui pū ana i ke keʻaka a me ka makemakika e hōʻike ana i ka kaulike a me ka lokahi o ka ʻano fractal. Ma ka haʻihaʻi ʻana ma o ka Digital Root, hōʻike mai ana i kahi pilina hohonu me ka huinakea, ka māhele gula, a me ka helu ʻeiwa. Mai nā mea hoʻomau i hana ʻia, kūpono kona hoʻolālā hiki ke hoʻololi i nā hana like ʻole, e like me he pākaukau puke, he paepae hōʻike, a i ʻole he mea kiʻi kālai. Ma waho aʻe o ke ʻano a me ka hana, komo ʻia ka hōʻike keʻaka a me ka hoʻailona, e hoʻohui ana i ka hoʻonohonoho, ka kaulike, a me ka lokahi. "He mele ka Hana i kākau ʻia me nā helu."

Ua lanakila ka hoʻolālā Fractal 9 Pākaukau Kiʻi Kālai i ka A' Design Award Keleawe, he ʻike hoʻohanohano nui loa i hāʻawi ʻia i nā hoʻolālā kūʻokoʻa i ʻike ʻia ma o ka hana noʻeau, ka akamai a me ka makakoho. He mau hana mākaukau a hana noʻeau kupaianaha nā lanakila Keleawe e hōʻoia ana i ka ʻike nui, ka noʻonoʻo a me ka maʻalea o kā lākou poʻe hoʻolālā. Manaʻo ʻia ʻo ka hoʻolālā Fractal 9 Pākaukau Kiʻi Kālai he mea i mahalo nui ʻia, hoʻohiwahiwa ʻia a aloha ʻia, he ʻoihana a hou loa. ʻO kēia hoʻolālā i lanakila i ka A' Design Award Keleawe e hoʻohui ana i nā hana maikaʻi loa o ka hana noʻeau, ka ʻepekema, ka hoʻolālā a me ka ʻenehana, a maikaʻi no kona nānā ʻana i nā kikoʻī. Hoʻokō maikaʻi ka hoʻolālā Fractal 9 Pākaukau Kiʻi Kālai i nā pono, hoʻopā i ka makemake, hoʻohiwahiwa i nā manaʻo a huki i ka makemake e ʻike.

- Fractal 9 merges traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology. Its wooden modules are precisely machined using CNC milling to achieve accurate cuts and key angles. The acrylic assembly pieces are laser-cut, ensuring a perfect fit.
FSC-certified wood, transparent acrylic, and stainless steel provide sustainability, strength, and durability. The hand-applied finish enhances its aesthetics, seamlessly blending industrial precision with artisanal refinement. - Pilikia Hoʻolālā
- Theoretically, the biggest challenge was the thought process required to establish the conceptual principles that underpin the model’s connection with the square, the golden ratio, and the number 9. This analysis, based on the Digital Root, revealed a coherence that transcends the project itself and gave rise to an ongoing line of research. In practice, the assembly system posed a great challenge, as the solution had to be robust enough to support the structure, yet subtle enough to integrate without compromising its aesthetics and visual perception.

- Type of Research: Applied research. Research Objectives: To validate the geometric and mathematical consistency of the design using the Digital Root. Methodology: Quantitative analysis of angles and proportions to identify recurring patterns. Data Collection: Geometric measurements and numerical calculations to evaluate coherence. Experiments: Stability assessment across various configurations. Results: Confirmation of structural stability and recurring numerical patterns. Impact: Fractal 9 integrates art, geometry, and design, inspiring applications in architecture and applied mathematics education.
- Hoʻoulu Manaʻo
- Everything started with the need to make use of an empty space in the living room of my home. The goal was to create a piece of furniture that blended aesthetics and functionality, enhancing the space with a distinctive touch.
Over time, this initial model was analyzed through the Digital Root, unveiling significant numerical connections embedded in its structure. This discovery marked a turning point, leading to the conceptual design presented here: Fractal 9. - Ka Lōʻihi o ka Papahana
- The first model was created in September 2019 as a personal design exploration. Over the years, it gained deeper significance, leading to structural and aesthetic refinements. In November 2024, the latest version was developed as a conceptual design with potential for future commercialization.

- The modular assembly is performed using an Allen wrench, enabling its transformation between an Integral Unit and two Essential Units. It adapts seamlessly to various spaces and functions serving as a bookshelf, a display surface, or a sculptural piece.
User interaction is intuitive, fostering creative exploration and customization of the environment through its flexible configuration and striking visual impact. - Nā Kuleana Kiʻi
