About Unvisible Landscapes Kukui
ʻO Unvisible Landscapes kahi ʻano kukui i hoʻokumu ʻia ma luna o nā fractal ʻekolu ana. Hoʻomanaʻo nā ʻano i nā ʻāina kūlanakauhale a ua hana ʻia i loko o nā polokalamu hoʻohālike fractal. Hoʻohana ʻia nā palapala aina hoʻoneʻe (displacement maps) i nā ʻili ma nā polokalamu hoʻohālike ʻekolu ana, a paʻi ʻia nā ʻano i loaʻa me ka filament PLA. Ua hoʻopili ʻia kēlā me kēia mea paʻi i nā kaula LED a me kahi kumu mana, no laila e hōʻike ʻia ana ke fractal ma ke ʻano o ka mālamalama. Hoʻike kēia ʻano kukui i nā hale kūkulu makemakika ma ka lewa kino, a lawe iā lākou i loko o ke kahua o ke kālai a me ka hoʻolālā.

About the A' Design Award Keleawe
Ua lanakila ka hoʻolālā Unvisible Landscapes Kukui i ka A' Design Award Keleawe, he ʻike hoʻohanohano nui loa i hāʻawi ʻia i nā hoʻolālā kūʻokoʻa i ʻike ʻia ma o ka hana noʻeau, ka akamai a me ka makakoho. He mau hana mākaukau a hana noʻeau kupaianaha nā lanakila Keleawe e hōʻoia ana i ka ʻike nui, ka noʻonoʻo a me ka maʻalea o kā lākou poʻe hoʻolālā. Manaʻo ʻia ʻo ka hoʻolālā Unvisible Landscapes Kukui he mea i mahalo nui ʻia, hoʻohiwahiwa ʻia a aloha ʻia, he ʻoihana a hou loa. ʻO kēia hoʻolālā i lanakila i ka A' Design Award Keleawe e hoʻohui ana i nā hana maikaʻi loa o ka hana noʻeau, ka ʻepekema, ka hoʻolālā a me ka ʻenehana, a maikaʻi no kona nānā ʻana i nā kikoʻī. Hoʻokō maikaʻi ka hoʻolālā Unvisible Landscapes Kukui i nā pono, hoʻopā i ka makemake, hoʻohiwahiwa i nā manaʻo a huki i ka makemake e ʻike.

- Unique Properties
- 3 dimensional fractals that bring associations with urban landscapes generated in fractal generation software and then transposed to physical space by 3d printing and presented in the form of light.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Model 1: Width 170 mm x Depth 120 mm x Height 26 mm
Model 2: Width 200 mm x Depth 150 mm x Height 16 mm
Model 3: Width 420 mm x Depth 320 mm x Height 15 mm - Tags
- fractal, fractals, 3d print, 3d printing, light
- Production Technology
- Fractal generation through Mandelbulb 3d software. 3d processing was made by applying displacement maps to surfaces in 3d modeling software. Physical objects were printed on a 3d printer with te use of PLA filament and then equipped with LED strips for lighting.
- Design Challenge
- This design is a part of the project 'Unvisible Spaces' with the aim to visualize and sonify 'unvisible' phenomena that take place in nature and introduce them to the field of art and design.
- Research
- Fractals generated by mutation of formulas and navigation in Mandelbulb 3d software. Then rendered and transposed into video, digital prints and 3d prints.
- Inspiration
- Objective mathematical notions must be thought as timeless entities and are not to be regarded as being conjured into existence at the moment that they are first humanly perceived.

Eternal beauty (...) nor this beauty will appear like the beauty of a face or hands or anything corporeal, or like a thought or knowledge, or existing in any other being, but a beauty itself constant and eternal.
Plato, The Symposium - Project Duration
- The project starded in 2019, and was exhibited in Pavilion 02 in Venice in May 2019
