הבלון של אוברהאוזר הוא מנורת חוץ המיוצרת בשלושה גדלים, בקטרים של 30 ס"מ, 70 ס"מ ו-100 ס"מ. המנורה עשויה ממלט באמצעות הדפסת בטון תלת-ממדית במצע אבקה, שיטה המוכרת גם כהחדרת משחה סלקטיבית (Selective Paste Intrusion). בתהליך זה, משחת מלט מוזרקת לתוך מצע אבקה, והצורה נבנית שכבה אחר שכבה. אין צורך בתבניות, ולכן ניתן לייצר גיאומטריות מורכבות ומפורטות. החומר עמיד מאוד בפני תנאי מזג אוויר ולכן מתאים לשימוש חיצוני. שימוש יעיל בחומר מצמצם את הפסולת במהלך הייצור.
