Txog Nina & Beni Lub Rooj Zaum

Nina & Beni yog ib lub rooj zaum ua los ntawm ntoo tiag tiag uas tau kev tshoov siab los ntawm cov duab ntawm cov qauv nkoj ntoo. Ob daim ntoo uas raug siv pa nchos ua kom khoov tuaj dhau saum lub rooj zaum, ua ntej ua ko taw rooj, tom qab ntawd ua chaw tso caj npab, thiab thaum kawg ua duab los txhawb ntu duav qis. Lub rooj zaum no yog ua los ntawm ntoo ash, cherry, oak lossis walnut uas los ntawm cov hav zoov muaj kev tswj hwm ruaj khov, thiab tau ua kom tiav zoo nkauj nrog cov roj thiab ciab ntuj tsim. Cov qauv txiav ntawm lub tshuab tsib-txoj-hauv-kev (five axis machine) coj txoj kev siv pa nchos ua kom ntoo khoov thiab kev muab cov daim ntoo lo ua ke. Lub rooj zaum ntawd rho tau tawm thiab hloov tau. Txoj kev ua duab no txwv kom tsis txhob muaj ntoo pov tseg ntau.

Yam Tshwj Xeeb: Two steam-bent strips cantilever over the seat to serve first as legs then armrest and finally mold to the lumbar area. The Nina & Beni chair is made from 100% sustainably sourced forests.
Qhov Loj & Ntim: Dimensions: W 560 x H 720 x L 500mm
Weight: 8 kg (unboxed)
Main materials: ash, cherry, oak or walnut
Finish: Natural oils and waxes
Cov Ntsiab Lus: Steam bending, solid wood, sustainable, chair design
Thev Naus Laus Zis Tsim Khoom: To achieve the complex geometry of the Nina & beni chair we use a 5 axis CNC to cut 2 molds which we then use to steam bend the solid wood strips to their form. We then use another set of cnc-cut counter molds to make the 3d lamination.
Kev Sib Tw Tsim Qauv: The most difficult part was designing and building the 3 dimensional molds needed to build the chair.
Kev Tshawb Fawb: Sustainability is my design objective.
I use wood because it is the best short carbon cycle material, the complex shapes are steam-bent so as to create as little waste as possible.
These pieces are made from quality materials and designed to last a lifetime.
Kev Txhawb Siab: Inspired by the efficient yet beautiful forms of wooden naval structures. Boat building achieves aerodynamic forms that take advantage of the trees grain with little waste.
Lub Sij Hawm Ua Hauj Lwm: This project started in September 2019, was exhibited at The Stockholm Furniture fair in January then at the London design fair in September
Txheej Txheem Ua Hauj Lwm: Solid wood chair meant to last a lifetime
Seat is removable and interchangeable.
