A Ribbon Utcai pad bemutatása

Könyv szövege: A Ribbon egy utcai pad, amelyet olyan közterekre terveztek, mint városi terek, közösségi terek és sétányok. Öt jellemző pihenési testtartást – összehúzódó, mélyen ülő, egyenesen ülő, hátradőlő és elnyúló – vizsgáltak meg, majd egyszerűsítettek le profilgörbékké. Az öt görbe közötti sima átmenetek egyetlen kanyargó formát hoznak létre. A pad rétegelt lemez keretekből készül, amelyek egyenként 35 milliméter szélesek és 50 milliméter távolságra helyezkednek el egymástól, menetes acélrudakkal, csavaranyákkal és fa távtartókkal összeillesztve. A lécezett szerkezet lehetővé teszi a vízelvezetést, így beltéri és kültéri környezetben egyaránt alkalmazható.

Egyedi tulajdonságok: Five postures are studied and used to shape the bench’s profile curves. This design approach ensures the bench accommodates these postures, offering a more comfortable resting experience. Additionally, this bench not only adds aesthetic value as an urban sculpture but also blends well with street side planter.

Kutatás: Through observation and sketching, five common resting postures were identified: tucked-in, deep, straight-up, lean back, and lounging. Simplified curves representing these postures were used to shape the bench's profile, creating a smooth, unified design. The wooden slats offer a dual visual effect—semi-transparent when viewed from the front and appearing to be smooth and uniformly patterned, giving it a tactile and visually rhythmic quality when looking from the side.
Inspiráció: Ribbon draws inspiration from body posture and curves when people rest naturally. The bench is crafted based on five common outdoor resting postures. The design simplifies the interface between body and furniture to create the bench’s profile curves, using smooth transitions between these five profile curves to create a meandering, comfortable street bench.
Projekt időtartama: The bench is flexible for installation in various settings, including city plazas, community squares, promenades, and similar locations intended for people to sit and rest for a moment.
