Sunny Villa adalah desain interior hunian untuk sebuah apartemen di Hong Kong. Rumah ini menempati area seluas 2200 kaki persegi di lantai enam dan mencakup lima kamar, ruang keluarga, serta ruang makan. Tata ruang terbuka menghubungkan area keluarga dan area makan untuk memperluas kesan pada ruang yang memanjang. Pintu tersembunyi memisahkan ruang-ruang privat sekaligus menjaga kesatuan tampilan interior. Nuansa cokelat tua, serat kayu, ubin, kaca, dan pola batu diseimbangkan dengan warna krem serta cat bernada terang. Dinding dengan garis-garis lurus mengarahkan pandangan dan menandai ritme setiap area.

Unique Properties: Hidden Door: The boundary between public and private areas has always been a key point in residential planning. The design team installed hidden doors as a way of separating the corporate areas and maintaining the consistency of the interior. In addition, the concealed doors cleverly avoid disrupting the theme of each area. Color Planning: The project has modern classic elements to shape each area, including straight lines and large, elegant color blocks. In the public area, there are light, medium, and dark tones for the ceiling, floor, and walls to make the three-dimensional space junction more vivid.
Dimensions & Packaging: On the sixth floor, the site has a total area of 2200 square feet, with five rooms, a living room, and a dining room. According to the site conditions, the design team aimed to enlarge the space horizontally, including the living and dining rooms linked, and the kitchen orientation. The ceiling serves as a frame to enhance the width, while the passageways in the private area allude to the theme of each area and replace part of the partition, shaping harmony.

Production Technology: Building materials: wood grain, tiles, moru glass, iron parts, thin slab tiles, eco-friendly latex paint, etc. The color scheme is dark brown with wood grain to form a calm and restrained impression. The design team balanced the oppressive feeling of dark tone with light colors of paint. In addition, the main colors of the public and private areas are different. In the public area, beige is the main color, and the dark tone complements the spacious space for reception. The carbon black wood walls allow homeowners to display their favorite items.
Design Challenge: One of the challenges was to highlight the advantages of the site. Creating too many partitions in a long space would have resulted in an incomplete use of the area, so the design team took an open plan for the public area. Meanwhile, the suspended ceiling is installed to conceal ductwork and beams to create visual consistency. As for another challenge, the slightest flaw in the presentation of large color blocks will cause the visual balance to be disrupted, so extra attention had to be paid to the workmanship.
Research: In a space dominated by the dark color, the combination of stable tones and various materials brings infinite creativity. The design team took large color blocks as the basis and embellish them with stone patterns, grilles, and special paint to achieve an aesthetic balance between diversity and minimalism. The straight patterned wall is a core feature. They have a visual guiding function, are a classic interpretation of geometric art, and unveil the rhythm of the space. In particular, the wall is complemented by a special TV wall, which creates a harmonious visual effect.
Inspiration: In the process of creating the ideal home, apart from the pursuit of aesthetics, the design team's delicate expression of humanism is also amazing. Since a home is a place full of warmth, the theme of the project is warmth, with dark tones incorporated into the workmanship, details, and materials. The impression of brown in the grayscale is combined with modern and stylish straight lines. At the same time, the appropriate proportion of lines depicts each area, revealing an ideal, comfortable home for the family.
Project Duration: The project started in March 2022 in Hong Kong.
Operation Flow: The residence serves not only the family but also visitors. The open-plan public area can accommodate many people and meet various contexts, and the route to the kitchen and dining room is straightforward. The design team placed a spacious dining table with a kitchen island and installed two kitchen counters to enhance the functionality. On the other side, the TV wall in the living room echoes the wall behind the sofa. The large color block with marble textures turns the public area into an entertainment area. As for the living room, a couch is next to the window, showing a cozy atmosphere.
