Research: Employing user surveys, user interviews, and user portrait analysis, the research identified four priorities shaping home users’ purchasing decisions: safety, performance, ease of use, and energy efficiency. In response, the design incorporates a fully enclosed chamber, CoreXY kinematics, high-torque motors, and intelligent sensing. These refinements not only elevate print quality but also simplify operation, aligning technological sophistication with broader accessibility.
Inspiration: Centauri Carbon embodies Elegoo’s ongoing vision to bring 3D printing into every home. By leveraging user behavior insights, our team has redefined the common open-frame FDM design, introducing a fully enclosed structure with dual glass panels, high-precision CoreXY kinematics, and a built-in chamber camera. Project Duration: The development of the Centauri Carbon began in August 2023 and was completed in October 2024 in China. It was unveiled at the Rapid+TCT Exhibition in June 2024 and officially launched in February 2025.
