Design Legend Interview
15 March 2019
I studied Jewellery Design during my studies at the School of Jewellery ,University of Central England in Birmigham as well as at the Gemological Insitute of America at Viceza Italy.
I was raised at a traditional jewellery family so I wanted to design my own ideas that would be later manufacured at our workshop.
I decided to become a designer.
I basically design geometrical shaped pieces of jewellery.
Young designers must never forget the reason they first wanted to make their first design.
Discipline, justice and continious effort to evolve.
Good presentation can make a good design a really good design.
A good design makes everyday's life more interesting.
I would like to design for famous artists.
A dream project for me is a tiara.
Follow your instict all the way is my secret ingredient.
Cartier , Tiffany, Graff and Nikos Koulis are some jewellery design masters for me.
Continuous work and effort is the only key for improvement.
I would travel the world.
Design is expression for me.
My mother is my only supporter.
My mother helped me become what I am now.
The only obstacle I faced were peoples' jealousy of my success.
I think that designers difficult present their work due to their modesty. A marketing and PR representative can best present one's work.
Unique pieces of jewellery are my next project.
The gold A design is my goal as a designer.
People expect new, evolving designs every year from me.
Design makes life tasteful!
I am excited to be praparing a new collection for New York Fashion week 2019.
The ones worn by my customers everyday as I feel that they feel them all the time.
I would like to see designs representing countries' traditions and cultures.
I think that design field is heading to more technological methods.
It depends on the project; sometimes it takes a week and sometimes just a night.
I always start on paper.
Jewellery needs to be felt.
I think that design sets the trends.
Technology makes the final project perfect, while designing can give perfect dimensions.
I use Rhino for some of my designing projects.
Colour gives life to my designs.
My inspiration is always something I love talking about.
I admire it and try to think where the inspiration came from.
I do not believe in co-designing.
My ex-boyfriend being an interior designer really changed my point of view in designing.
The Great Gatsby effected my designing formulas.
I tried to participate in competitions and group exhibitions in order to improve my skills.
I would like to speak with Coco Channel.
I try never to forget where I started from and keep my feet on the ground. Being famous must make you want to become even better.
My favourite colour is pink, my favourite place is anywhere in Italy, my favourite season is winter, my favourite thing is my best friends Cartier pen and my favourite brand is Gucci.
The funniest thing was when a customer asked me if she could have the Bricola bracelet resized for her hand; she thought it was a ring although I had uploaded photos worn on my wrist.
I get motivated with music.
It was not obvious that I would design things. I was more in other things.
I think that in the future design will evolved in such a degree that it will be everywhere.
I love coming up with an idea and giving life to it by designing and making jewellery.
Designer Interview
15 March 2019
I was raised in a traditional jewellery business family. My interest in jewellery designing came after graduating from high school. I love everything that looks elegant and geometrical. I wanted to bring into life my jewellery designs.
My jewellery workshop is mostly characterised for its custom-made jewellery pieces that we try to design according to the wishes of our customers. We design, we manufacture and we sell the jewellery ourselves and this is why we can achieve maximum quality.
Design is expression for me.
I love designing jewellery pieces that can be worn in everyday life.
My favourite jewellery piece is the Tiffany diamond brooch with the exceptional Canary Yellow diamond. It is so simple with the yellow diamond in the leading part and a small canary bird on the side.
It was an eternity ring;simple with five colourless diamonds.
My favourite material is gold and precious stones.
Creativity does not have a specific time. It has inspiration that derives after experimentation combined with experience.
I try to focus in the details of my design as I believe that small details really make a difference.
Excitement, satisfaction and pride.
A design can be successful when it can be recognizable and immediately combined with the designer's profile.
Elegance, utility, inspiration.
As I use materials that are recycled for thousands of years, I strongly believe that a designer must try to present pieces of work towards these directions.
As the european economic crisis increases, I believe that the design field has been highly challenged.
I exhibit my works at my jewellery show room.
My inspiration comes from Ancient Greek history, from new shapes, from images I might encounter in my everyday life.
I would describe my style as geometrical.
I live in Greece, the country that has more than 5 millions of years heritage in jewellery design and craftmanship.
I design and I then I manufacture for them.
The company must find the designer that can provide a characteristic profile for them.
The design process is very simple for me. I have an inspiration and I work on it exactly at the moment that I have my flash.
1) A Cycladic small statue.2) A bronze leaf crown from Northern Greece.3) One of my brother's Rennaissance paintings.4) A designer's espresso making pot from my Italian best friend's wedding.5) My grandmother's handmade wooden table.
I work throughout the day either designing, manufacturing or teaching.
Never forget the reason they first decided to be what they wanted to be.
Being a designer can be exciting as you see in pictures what you have imagined but it can also be dissapointing not to be able to have the recognition you expect to have.
Sketch it exactly when you imagine it.
Inspiration, designing skills and patience.
Jewellery designing refferences and I have recently made some tutorials on Rhinoceros software for designing.
I try to design during the night.
It depends on the item that we design. It can take just a few hours or it can take some days.
How did you think of this?
Working with my father is my most important job experience.
Jewellery shops throughout Greece are some of my clients.
Designing earrings is what I enjoy the most.
I really do not have any plans for the moment. I try to make a new summer collection to be presented to my clients in a couple of months and I continue working at my jewellery show room.
I work on my own.
My summer collection is what I work on at the moment and the title is "Sea Animal World".
People can easily contact me through my facebook page TEZORO JEWELLERY or my e-mail.
It has been a great experience participating at the A Design Award Competition.
