Design Legend Interview

28 May 2019

From an early age I made my first project on a motor boat made of wood thanks to the help of my father who had a carpentry shop. Growing up, I was able to get in touch with many construction artisans and in me the passion for this world that I have always had inside has fully blossomed.

It is an activity that fascinates me and I am attracted by the idea of looking for new forms, finding the harmony between the materials, creating new and functional things.

I chose to become one.

I design everything, I prefer to design residential and tourist accommodation.

I don't consider myself a legend of design, but I think that young people should study and do a lot of research.

The distinction lies in the capabilities, in the car, in the thickness of one with respect to the other.

The sum of several factors: form, contents, colors.

The value lies in the project and its intrinsic nature. Investing in design is always positive and it's nice to surround yourself with design objects.

There are several masters of design, I will mention a few. Fred Loyd Wright, Mies Van Der Rohe, Carlo Scarpa, Saarinen, Starck.

My favorite designs are the arch of Castiglioni, the juicer of Starck, the chaiselongue by Le Corbusier.

To improve, you need to invest in yourself, study different topics, study and do research.

I don't know. I never asked myself this question.

Nobody helped me.

Passion, initiative, determination to achieve certain results.

First we need to show the idea with the pre-school studies and then use render and photorealistic images.

They expect a lot.

I'm working on other projects, including a restaurant and a hotel renovation.

To create increasingly sophisticated forms.

It takes a lot of time.

We hope it is realized.

The usual dilemma. I think the trends set the projects.

The role of technology is important but it also depends on the type of project.

Using Autocad and Rhinoceros.

They have a fundamental role and are well connected to the initial idea.

Everything.

I think of the whole creative process behind it and the time spent on the work.

Collaboration is important for the best possible outcome of the work.

Regarding the awards and recognitions I received, I feel excited and proud.

My favorite color is red, the favorite place is the sea, I really like pasta and pizza, I love summer, I'm tied to my car and my favorite brand is Audi.

When I was little I made a small motor boat. Seeing the little boat in the water and governing it from a distance filled my heart with joy.

I don't know.

Designer Interview

29 November 2019

From an early age (13 years) I realized my design project on a small motor boat. In this I was helped by my father's work as a carpenter. I have always attended artisans in the field of construction and industrial design. The fact that I became a designer is a logical consequence of my past life and my nature.

Design means project and everything that goes with it.

I like working on residential and tourist accommodation.

My favorite design is the Arco lamp by Achille Castiglioni.

The first thing I designed for a company was the showroom of the Stefanel SPA company in Pescara, a leading franchising company, in 1995

My favorite materials are wood, stone, steel and glass.

I feel more creative early in the morning.

First of all I focus on the initial idea and then on the details of the project.

The emotions I feel when I design are different: happiness, fun and satisfaction.

The emotions I feel when I see my projects realized, I feel satisfied and amazed.

The success of a project depends on various factors. first of all the idea, the marketing and a bit of luck.

The materials used, the aesthetics of the design or its shape.

The designer's responsibility is to create beautiful, reliable and democratically appealing things (objects). And for environmentally friendly environments.

At the time I didn't attend exhibitions. The next will be that of ADA.

I take inspiration from nature and the study of the past. I nurture my creativity by reading and studying.

My style is essential and minimalist. The main features are found in the search for details, in light and in forms that are not always minimal.

I live in Pescara.

I listen to their requests and then elaborate my project proposal.

After a careful analysis of the subject in question I do a research work and then start to elaborate a series of design sketches to reach the final project.

Aldo Rossi's coffee machine.
Starck's juicer.
The chair by Gio Ponti.
Le Corbusier's chaiselongue.
The Arco d Castiglioni lamp.

Wake up early in the morning. I go to work. Lunch. I work again in the afternoon. If I can, I carry out physical activities and organize meetings for public relations.

In my opinion there are no golden rules.

A good designer must have a creative eye, he must imagine how the completed work will be, he must have a good hand and use of colors.

We use the brain first. Then paper and pencil. Finally, you work with software.

The design takes a long time but sometimes it is necessary to have moments of distraction and then make the best creativity.

It is not easy to determine how long it takes.

Design a restaurant.

I have very different clients.

I develop projects on my own but I make use of collaborators for the following phases.

There are works in progress, including a restaurant project.
