Interview with Jong Won Park
Actually I worked with game,feature film,animation,TV commercial ,publication industry during 15 years which means I'm professional artist, designer, illustrator even traditional painting artist.

my major was digital cartoon , 16 years ago when I graduated college, afterward I was join to game industry with concept designer for making game until now. something different situation between 16 years ago and now, at this moment I covered several various kind of industry designing like a feature film , animation , publication even advertising industry as well.
when I was young, I enjoyed drawing, designing with LEGO, also make a comic book something like this experience became a designer. also I spent a time with imagination something, whatever, and then that deliver to paper with pencil, brush.
I just became a designer with choose to naturally I think.
I would like to design that much more contain fresh and creative, also unique things inside of it.
should have several and various experience from several channel ,that like a book, movie, music , even small element from somewhere ,experience is really important for creating something. and don't afraid of experiment to do. just do it.
good designer make design well that follow trend also and great designer make trend that another designer would be follow this trend
good design should be have just two kind of ,one is should be have function definitely second is should be have beautiful that touched mind, heart of viewer
good design have kind of function of expanding in the world which means most of people loved good design and would that deliver to other person quickly and easily
if I have more extra time then I would design to like a acrylic painting that included in great storytelling and fresh color scheme but that have different emotion, sensibility with 'Rainy Day' that already put into this competition.
I'd like to painting on the great wall that means painted on huge wall instead of just canvas. that wall being in outside so everyone feeling emotion, sensibility from this work.

Jony Ive who is chief designer in Apple company , I like his design philosophy that make much simple to product design even user interface design as well.
most of Apply product like a Macbook, imac, iphone something like this. everything have just simple design also mush more useful in my case. just have gorgeous outline even though that they also have useful function that also much easier learning to use.
'Rainy Day' I think it is my greatest design because that contain great storytelling inside on it with beautiful color scheme
look and see much more even hearing from nature whatever and then try to make new design constantly then you improved your negative things and would become to be much better designer as well.
probably became the artist, especially painting artist definitely .

obviously my wife from 10 years ago. cause being her I've been grow up much better than before
creative energy from several people. from my wife, children ,another artist, friend as well .
just me. I have just only one rival that is just me , that was obstacle until now.
with honesty ,strong confidence, don't be shy , never afraid of
much better designed traditional painting of course
always make new trend that would included in my design project. so eventually other designer would pursued my design trend
maybe expect something that would getting more great sensibility, emotion , beautiful feeling as well.
design connected between each person with aesthetics languages . that would be bring to better world, society
I'm doing now something that some of experiment that kind of painting and drawing with several different tool that doesn't matter traditional or digital whatever. just pursued that more creativity, unique , even fresh feeling to viewer
that is 'Rainy Day' acrylic painting that I already put this competition because I got a great result output from initial idea of this also this painting output definitely match with initial thought that was what should I draw in this canvas. so first rough initial purposes great matched with output design.
I'd like to see fresh design language especially housing design, interior and even exterior also . because we can improvement much more than now ,but wouldn't change completely , I mean even if slightly changed something, some small parts of that then our life style would be much higher and better

usually doesn't matter there is somewhere if I have some of paper and pencil for sketch
thinks different, just do it.
both are possible I think but I usually pursued design sets the trend. that is much more valuable
technology just support to ultimate design I think .
usually I used Macbook with intuos tablet and photoshop software.
that is parts of overall design language also every thing is really important for make overall design result so doesn't necessary things is nothing.
what is the storytelling that inside of this design product
blow my mind with inspiration , happy, shaking the heart,
me and my wife, we are good team for make a new fresh design also sure I believe in co-design because this would bring much easier to think expanding
most of other designer and artist influenced to my design even if we didn't meet or connect with something but we can interacted with each design work, design language.
usually comic book, fairy book, kind of design magazine is give most of effect on my work.
every time thinking about creativity , also every day draw or painting something even spend tiny minute

that is really thankful in my life with honor ,if I have, getting some of award. and I don't know ,sometimes easy or hard to be famous I think that is depend on what kind of award or ,timing with current trend
blue, grey and orange is favorite color and Jeju island in South Korea is best place for me , like a food that included rice , like a spring and early summer, LEGO brand is my favorite as well
around 15 years ago when I started rookie designer some of palmist person said to me ' you would be work with physical labor ' but I worked with designer, and artist so far
just make my mind always to be good, and tried to determine with strong passion mind.
yes I was definitely believe and trust my ability with my skill, and imaginative power
I thinks human immigration to another planet where similar with earth
just keep going with your passion , already trust things was, don't afraid of anythings , just do it , remember fail is good experience
Designer Interview

I worked in the game, animation, feature film industry during 15 years with concept artist, concept designer, illustrator position, and I became the artist, designer from when I start work with one of design company 15 years ago, of course I wanna get called 'designer' or ' artist' from someone because I always pursue make artistic things that doesn't matter drawing, painting, picture, video clip whatever also usually I created digital artwork with PC, photoshop, tablet but at this moment I have lot of interesting about traditional artwork like a draw with actual pen, pencil, brush, water color, even acrylic ,oil on the canvas or paper .
my design studios called ' JC park Creative Studios ' usually get some outsourcing work from several kind of game, animation, feature film company sometimes we get some work from special company that like a theme park company, broadcast company, book cover design also.
happy to make people, also make much more happy to creators, living quality make much higher .

I really love design of LEGO bricks, because that is just simple single design have but people can be use this to much better design , means quite open to expanding much further more.
I was design about skin design of company website with illustration, 15 years ago, that was my first design for the company.
usually everything, if that can be create or make, mixed something, for example actual fabric canvas, material, PC, tablet , gaming console, audio, book , most everything.
when I suddenly saw the some of picture, movie, design from someone. or sometimes when I heard some of music, song , of course I feel the creative idea.
creativity , unique , unusual things usually I pursued , focusing on.
usually happy , and shaking the mind, heart.
really, really happy.
should be useful , add some of unique outline, things the never seen before and most of people loved that then I thinks that is successful design.
maybe don't have repulse feeling, first consider.
human life make much better than before.
much more simple but included fresh, creative things.
unfortunately I did't have any exhibition experience yet so hopefully getting winner of this competition then make my 1st exhibition with A design award in Como.
from everything. which means for example, when I saw some of pen on the table suddenly I feeling the inspiration so I always observation everything, every element, every product also even things that nothing special.
my design , art style pursued much more simple, and basically beautiful if everyone see that. nothing special and doesn't complicate, which means when I designing something my sight is just from normal person, nothing expert of design. just when I refining design finally I just see with expert sight.
I originally from South Korea where living during 35 years and now I living in Germany during 4 years. I thinks those 2 kind of place have pros and cons , Korea have good environment that combined between past old things and present things but usually focusing on contemporary things, compare with Korea, Germany have good preservation environment from long time ago, so we can see more easily there's history on the building, something whatever. both of this things affect to my design. better or not.
got a work description from the company, clients then doing first rough design and send back quickly and getting feedback and refining .. repeat this process then could be reduce misunderstanding .
respect is important and trust also. I usually respect and trust to company, client also same with me from the company most of time that my experience.
got a description , and if necessary then we have to make meeting for initial sketch or rough and then I work for rough initial image and sent to client and then getting feedback quickly ,constantly continuing and afterward we can approach to final result.
painting frame, fridge , laptop , small flowerpot, and LEGO bricks.
morning wake up and preparing something that send to school for my sons and come to company and work, after work get back home, take care of children , when they are come to bed then I start my personal designing work.
I'd like to say just simply word , famous word, but really strong word, one is ' think different ' this is really important if you make just common things then people don't keep watching , interesting, so if possible should show much different idea or design to audience. second is ' just do it ' when you designing something please don't hesitated trying. which mean never afraid of fail.
positives things is designer make much more good living place in our planet constantly with great sensibility design product, element , and so on. so could have special pride, self respect, rewarding kind of. and just small negatives things, sometimes payment doesn't satisfy to designer, but could be overcome something like this with passion of design.
just looking good things that should from most of people not only just from designer sight
hand skill, or something other physical skill is most doesn't important I thinks most important thing is creative thinking with think different. and willing and patience also important to designer as well
usually pen, that could be approach to first initial idea could exposure to outside from thinking about. also use PC, internet for researching reference, and for expanding idea
I usually lot of time expend to designing , but sometimes time would not enough I just keep thinking about relevant design constantly , when I eating , sleeping for example, then when I start again to designing then much easier for approaching to final designing.
definitely depend on each project design but usually spend a time around 1-2 weeks for researching reference and actual designing work would take 1 week that criterion something like a 'Rainy Day' that I already put on this competition.
what is most inspiration to you ?
when I designed some of Robot concept for SAMSUNG advertising around 1 and half years ago, because this is first time experience approach that excepted game , movie, even animation industry. also they make much great video clip, even statue with my design work.
most of clients included in game, feature film and animation industry in my case
most of interest and enjoy to kind of drawing or painting design work. because I usually enjoy something draw and paint to somewhere even my most of career timeline existed with there.
my final goal is make some of sensibility painting that would be traditional art work also that doesn't matter what kind of painting tools used and maybe that enjoyed from lot of people even next and next generation , constantly.
I usually work myself, that is simple and slightly avoid misunderstanding each other.
I would say about my one of another traditional artwork that also drawing , with paper and sharp pencil and finally finishing with black color brush, that name is 'Alley' this work describe kind of footage about normal people crowd also combined with future things in current environment.
