I am Mobina Mohammadvali, a professional jewelry designer with over eight years of experience in digital jewelry design.

Designer of the Day Interview

12 May 2026

I have been active in jewelry design since 2017. My background in architecture from art school helped shape my artistic vision and understanding of form, structure, and detail. I work independently and collaborate with jewelry brands, gallery owners, and private clients on custom designs and creative concepts. Over the years, participating in international design competitions and winning awards has become one of the most valuable experiences in my career.

I became a designer because jewelry has always been part of my life. My father has worked in the jewelry industry for more than 50 years, and when I was a child, I spent a lot of time in his workshop learning about craftsmanship and design. That early connection created a deep passion in me. At the age of 17, after finishing school, I decided to seriously pursue jewelry design and follow my imagination and creativity professionally.

My priorities in design are originality, emotional meaning, and technical precision. I usually begin with deep thinking and simple sketches on paper before moving into 3D modeling software. My style is conceptual and futuristic, often inspired by the human mind, emotions, and ideas beyond ordinary perspectives. I always try to create designs that feel unique and meaningful rather than only decorative.

Designing gives me a very emotional feeling, as if I am giving life to an idea. The most exciting part for me is when a concept slowly transforms into a real form. I especially enjoy the moment when imagination becomes something visible and wearable, because it feels like creating something alive.

My family background and artistic environment had a strong influence on me, especially growing up around my father’s jewelry workshop. At the same time, my ability to think deeply, imagine freely, and observe emotions has shaped my identity as a designer. I believe patience, perseverance, and curiosity are just as important as technical skill in becoming successful as a designer.

My growth path is focused on turning my conceptual designs into real jewelry pieces and presenting them internationally. In the future, I would like to participate in major global exhibitions and eventually build my own recognized design identity and collection. My dream project is to create jewelry pieces that combine art, emotion, and futuristic concepts in a completely original way.

My advice to designers at the beginning of their career is to stay patient, keep learning, and never be afraid of being different. Do not focus only on trends or commercial success; instead, try to develop your own identity and way of thinking. Originality and perseverance are what make a designer memorable.

I think designers and artists should always stay curious and continue exploring new ideas. One of the biggest mistakes is being afraid of experimentation. Growth happens when you challenge yourself creatively and emotionally. I also believe that technical skill is important, but imagination and deep thinking are what truly give value to a design.

My daily life is usually centered around thinking, researching, sketching, and 3D modeling. I spend a lot of time developing concepts in my mind before turning them into designs. I also communicate online with clients and brands. Most of my creative ideas come to me late at night, when everything is quiet and my mind feels more focused.

I am aware of design trends, but I do not let them control my work. I prefer creating designs that come from my own imagination and emotions rather than following temporary trends. For me, originality and meaning are more important than creating something only because it is fashionable.

For me, a good design is something that combines originality, emotion, and strong technical execution. A well-designed piece should leave a lasting feeling and communicate an idea beyond its appearance. I think the biggest mistake in design is creating something beautiful without meaning or identity.

I decide a design is ready when I feel the concept, emotion, and form are completely connected together. Of course, I believe every design can always be improved, but there comes a moment when the piece already expresses exactly what I wanted to say.

One of my most important design works is the jewelry piece I created based on the connection between artificial intelligence and human brain neurons. I spent a long time researching the relationship between technology, thought, and human emotion in order to transform such an invisible and complex concept into wearable art.

What makes this project special to me is that it reflects the way I think as a designer. I am always searching for ideas beyond ordinary perspectives, and this design allowed me to combine futuristic concepts with emotional depth and technical precision.

I greatly admire Lucia Silvestri, the jewelry designer of Bvlgari. I admire her ability to combine bold creativity, color, emotion, and elegance in a very distinctive way. Her designs have a strong identity and artistic character, which I find very inspiring as a jewelry designer.

My lifestyle is very connected to thinking, imagination, and quiet observation. I spend a lot of time reflecting on ideas, emotions, and concepts that later become part of my designs. I love art, books, architecture, and spaces with atmosphere and character.
Although I deeply love my culture and my country, I believe my designs are not limited by geography. My inspiration comes more from the human mind, emotions, and universal ideas than from a specific place. Music and silence both play an important role in my creative process because they help me enter a deeper state of concentration and imagination.

I work independently because I like to have complete creative freedom over my ideas and artistic vision. My work philosophy is based on originality, emotional meaning, and attention to detail. I believe good design should not only be visually beautiful, but should also communicate a deeper message.
When collaborating with others, I value honesty, creativity, mutual respect, and open-minded thinking. I believe the strongest creative partnerships are built on trust and shared passion for creating something meaningful.

I believe designers contribute to society by changing the way people feel, think, and connect with the world around them. Even though jewelry is often seen as decorative, I try to create pieces that carry emotion, meaning, and storytelling.
I also believe sharing experiences, inspiring younger designers, and encouraging originality are important ways of giving back to the creative community.

Participating in the A’ Design Award has been a very valuable and motivating experience for me. Design competitions encourage designers to challenge themselves creatively and present their ideas on an international stage.
One of the biggest benefits of these competitions is gaining confidence, visibility, and connection with the global design community. Being recognized in such an environment motivates me to continue developing my artistic identity and pushing my creativity even further.

Design Legend Interview

13 May 2026

I studied Interior Architecture in art school, which gave me an early understanding of form, structure, and aesthetics. After that, I earned my associate degree in Architecture, and later continued my education in Jewelry Design for my bachelor’s degree. This combination of architecture and jewelry design helped shape my artistic perspective and design approach.

I became interested in design both because of my personal passion and my family background in jewelry. My brother is a professional jewelry designer, and watching his work inspired me deeply from a young age. Seeing the creative process made me want to create my own designs as well. Growing up in a family connected to jewelry naturally strengthened my interest and connection to this field.

I chose this path myself, driven by passion and curiosity, and I have never regretted it. Designing allows me to express my imagination and emotions in a meaningful way, and it has become an important part of who I am.

I especially love designing earrings and rings. These pieces give me the freedom to explore creativity, details, and unique forms while also creating a strong emotional and artistic connection through jewelry.

I still do not consider myself a great or legendary designer yet, but as a designer, I believe the most important thing is to always have perseverance. Without patience, hard work, and consistency, it is impossible to grow and achieve long-term success.

What separates a good designer from a great designer is originality and the courage to think differently. A great designer does not simply follow trends; they create designs with identity, emotion, and meaning that people can remember and connect with.

For me, a truly great design is something that combines originality, emotion, and strong technical execution. I evaluate a design not only by its beauty, but also by the feeling and meaning it communicates. A design should leave a lasting impression and make people feel connected to it.

Good design has great value because it changes the way people experience and connect with objects and emotions. Design is not only about appearance; it can tell stories, create feelings, and give identity to something. I believe investing in good design means investing in creativity, culture, and lasting impact.

If I had the opportunity, I would love to design a jewelry set for Kate Winslet because of her elegance, emotional depth, and timeless presence. I would also love to design a special men’s ring and bracelet for Christian Bale, inspired by his strong character, charisma, and sophisticated style.

My dream project would be designing jewelry for iconic brands such as Tiffany & Co. and David Yurman. I would love the opportunity to combine my conceptual and artistic vision with the heritage and craftsmanship of internationally recognized jewelry houses.

I believe the secret of success in design is staying true to your own vision and never stopping your creativity. Deep thinking, perseverance, and originality are the most important elements for me. I always try to create designs that come from emotion and imagination rather than simply following trends.

I am inspired by designers and artists who have a strong identity and unique vision in their work. I especially admire Lucia Silvestri for her bold creativity and emotional use of color and form in jewelry design. I am also inspired by architecture, the human mind, and artists who are able to transform deep concepts into timeless creations.

I admire jewelry designs that feel timeless, emotional, and bold at the same time. I especially enjoy designs that combine strong artistic identity with elegant craftsmanship. Pieces that are able to tell a story or create a deep emotional feeling always inspire me more than purely decorative jewelry.

One of my most important designs is the jewelry piece I created based on the connection between artificial intelligence and human brain neurons. I believe this design is special because it combines deep research, emotional meaning, futuristic concepts, and technical precision. It reflects my artistic vision and the way I transform invisible ideas into wearable art.

I believe people become better designers by constantly observing, thinking deeply, and staying curious. For me, growth came from patience, practice, research, and never being afraid of different ideas. I also think designers should focus on building their own identity instead of comparing themselves to others.

If I had not become a designer, I think I would still choose a creative and artistic path, probably connected to architecture or another form of visual art. Creativity has always been a natural part of my personality, and I cannot imagine myself doing something without artistic expression.

Design, for me, is a way of giving life to ideas and emotions. It is not only about creating something beautiful, but also about expressing invisible thoughts and turning imagination into a meaningful form.

My family has been one of my biggest sources of support, especially because I grew up in an environment connected to jewelry and creativity. At the same time, my own passion, curiosity, and perseverance played a major role in helping me continue this path.

What helped me grow as a designer was constant thinking, observation, practice, and never being afraid of different ideas. I always tried to develop my own perspective instead of simply following trends or repeating what already exists.

One of the biggest obstacles was trying to stay original in an industry where many designs become repetitive or trend-focused. Economic limitations and the high cost of jewelry also make creative freedom more challenging, but these difficulties motivated me to think more creatively and conceptually.

I believe designers should present their work honestly and with strong storytelling. A design becomes more powerful when people understand the concept, emotion, and meaning behind it, not only its appearance.

In the future, I hope to continue creating more conceptual and artistic jewelry pieces that combine emotion, technology, and imagination. I want my future projects to feel more personal, bold, and internationally recognized.

My ultimate goal as a designer is to create timeless jewelry pieces with strong artistic identity and emotional depth. I want my work to be remembered not only for beauty, but also for meaning and originality.

I think people expect honesty, originality, and a unique vision from a respected designer. They want to see designs that feel authentic and emotionally connected rather than something created only to follow trends.

Design helps create a better society because it changes the way people feel, think, and connect with the world around them. Good design can inspire emotions, improve experiences, and bring more creativity and meaning into everyday life.

Currently, I am especially excited about developing new conceptual jewelry ideas inspired by the human mind, emotions, and deeper philosophical meanings. I enjoy transforming abstract concepts into wearable art.

The projects that gave me the most satisfaction were the ones where I could fully express my imagination and emotions without limitations. Especially designs connected to deeper concepts and storytelling feel more meaningful to me.

I would like to see more originality and artistic freedom in the design industry in the coming years. I hope designers feel less pressure to only follow commercial trends and have more opportunities to create meaningful and experimental work.

I think the future of design is becoming more conceptual, emotional, and connected with technology. Artificial intelligence and digital tools will continue influencing design, but human imagination and emotion will always remain the most important element.

The time needed to finalize a design project depends on the complexity of the concept and technical details. Some ideas can develop within a day, while more conceptual and detailed projects may take much longer.

When starting a new design project, I usually begin with deep thinking and imagining the concept emotionally before sketching anything. After that, I create simple sketches and later develop the design through 3D modeling.

My life motto as a designer is: “Create what has never been imagined before.” I always try to push my imagination beyond ordinary perspectives and create designs with meaning and originality.

I believe true design creates trends, not the opposite. Trends may influence the industry temporarily, but original and meaningful designs are what leave a lasting impact.

Technology plays an important role in my design process, especially in 3D modeling and developing complex forms. However, I see technology as a tool to support creativity, not replace imagination and human emotion.

I use sketching tools, digital drawing methods, and 3D modeling software in my design process. I usually begin with simple hand sketches and then develop the ideas digitally to refine details, structure, and proportions.

Color, materials, and atmosphere play a very emotional role in design for me. Different metals and gemstones can completely change the feeling of a piece. I believe materials should not only look beautiful, but also support the concept and emotion behind the design.

I wish people would ask more about the meaning and emotions behind my designs rather than only focusing on appearance or materials. For me, the concept is the soul of the piece.

When I see a great design, the first thing that comes to my mind is the originality and emotion behind it. I always wonder what kind of thought, imagination, or story created that design.

My ideal design partner is someone who is open-minded, creative, and respectful of artistic freedom. I believe collaboration can create powerful ideas when both people share the same passion for originality and meaningful design.

The people who influenced my design the most were my family members, especially because I grew up surrounded by jewelry craftsmanship and creativity. Watching professional designers closely from a young age had a deep impact on me.

Books related to art, architecture, psychology, and philosophy have influenced my design perspective the most. I am especially interested in subjects that explore the human mind, emotions, and imagination.

I developed my skills through continuous practice, observation, research, and experimenting with different ideas. I believe growth in design comes from patience, curiosity, and constantly challenging your own creativity.

If I could meet and talk with anyone beyond time and space, I would choose people who changed the way humanity thinks about art, creativity, and imagination. I would love to understand how great minds transformed invisible ideas into timeless creations.

Awards and recognition are very motivating because they give designers confidence and visibility. However, I believe the real value is not fame itself, but the opportunity to share creativity and connect with people through design.

My favorite colors are black, silver, and gold because they feel timeless and powerful. I love places with artistic atmosphere and history, especially Italy. My favorite season is autumn because of its emotional and calm mood. One of the brands I admire most is Bvlgari.

One funny experience I had as a designer was spending hours deeply thinking about a concept and sketching many complicated ideas, only to suddenly realize the best solution was actually the simplest one. Moments like that remind me that creativity can appear unexpectedly.

What makes my day great as a designer is discovering a new idea or feeling inspired by an unexpected thought. My biggest motivation is the excitement of creating something original that has never existed before.

Yes, in some ways it was visible from childhood because I was always attracted to art, creativity, and jewelry craftsmanship. Growing up around workshops and design naturally shaped my imagination and artistic personality.

I think the future will become much more connected to technology and artificial intelligence, but human emotion and creativity will still remain essential. Even thousands of years from now, people will continue searching for meaning, beauty, and emotional connection through art and design.

I would like people to know that my designs come from deep thought, emotion, and imagination. I do not see jewelry only as decoration; for me, it is a way of expressing invisible ideas and turning them into something meaningful and timeless.

Designer Interview

26 September 2026

I became interested in jewelry design at the age of 17, in 2017, when I started studying and training professionally in this field. My background in architecture from art school also helped shape my design perspective, as architecture and jewelry design both rely on creativity, structure, proportion, and attention to detail.
Jewelry has always been a part of my life. My father has been working in the jewelry industry for more than 50 years and owned a bangle-making workshop. When I was around five years old, I used to spend time in his workshop, watching the craftsmanship closely. He even taught me how bangles were made, and that was the moment my passion for gold and jewelry truly began.
After finishing school, I decided to follow my passion and pursue jewelry design seriously. Since then, designing jewelry has become more than just a profession for me — it is a way to express creativity, emotion, and identity. I feel very fortunate to have discovered the career I truly love at such a young age.

I currently work independently as a jewelry designer, collaborating with well-known brands and creating custom design projects for them. Working independently gives me the freedom to explore different creative directions and develop my own artistic style.
At this stage of my career, my main focus is on building my personal collection of designs and participating in international design competitions. I see these competitions as an opportunity to challenge myself creatively, share my vision with a global audience, and grow as a designer.
Although I have not officially established a company or studio yet, creating my own brand and identity is one of my goals for the future.

Design, for me, means creation. It is a way to bring my ideas and imagination into reality, and I feel very grateful to have this art in my life to express myself creatively.

I am not usually inspired by the objects or living things around me. I prefer to create designs with a deeper emotional and spiritual dimension, inspired by ideas and concepts that are unexpected and unique — things that most people would never imagine.

My favorite design is the piece I created for A’ Design Award. I especially love this project because I spent a lot of time researching and thinking deeply about it. The main concept was the connection between artificial intelligence and the neurons of the human brain, and my goal was to transform this complex idea into a piece of jewelry.
For me, this design is more than just an accessory — it represents the relationship between technology, human thought, and creativity.

The first piece of jewelry I designed was a gemstone ring in 2017. That design was very special to me because it marked the beginning of my professional journey in jewelry design and allowed me to turn my passion into something real and wearable.

My favorite combination of materials is gold and silver together. I love the contrast and harmony between them, and when gemstones are added to the design, it makes the piece even more beautiful and complete for me.

I usually feel the most creative at night. Before going to sleep, I spend a lot of time thinking about new ideas and concepts, and when I wake up in the morning, I immediately start bringing those ideas to life.

When I design, I focus mostly on the technical details of the piece while also creating a unique beauty that feels original and unlike anything seen before.

Designing gives me the feeling of creating something alive. It feels as if I am giving life to a thought or an idea and turning it into something real and meaningful.

I truly love that moment. It feels like something new is being born, almost like bringing a child into the world.

I believe passion and perseverance are the most important elements of a successful design.

When judging whether a design is good or bad, the first thing I consider is originality and the emotion behind it. For me, a strong design should not only be visually beautiful, but also meaningful, technically well-crafted, and able to create a lasting impression.

I believe designers have a responsibility to create meaningful work, not just beautiful objects. A design should have value, emotion, and respect for both people and the environment. As a jewelry designer, I think it is important to create pieces that are timeless and emotionally connected to the wearer, rather than designs that are only temporary trends.

I think the design field is evolving toward more meaningful and innovative creations. Technology, especially artificial intelligence, is becoming an important part of the creative process, but I believe human emotion and imagination will always remain the soul of design. In the future, I think design will become more personal, conceptual, and emotionally connected to people.

I have not had my own exhibition yet, but I would love to participate in an exhibition in Italy in the near future, as I believe it is one of the most inspiring places for art, design, and creativity.

My main source of inspiration is the human mind. As I mentioned before, I spend a lot of time thinking deeply, and many of my ideas come from imagination, emotions, and complex thoughts rather than from the outside world.

My design style is conceptual and futuristic, with a strong emotional and artistic dimension. I am drawn to creating unique forms that carry deeper meanings and ideas rather than simply focusing on decoration. I think my style developed naturally from the way I think, imagine, and see the connection between emotions, the human mind, and creativity.

I live in Iran, and I truly love my country and its culture. However, I do not feel that my designs are directly connected to where I live, because my way of thinking goes beyond geographical boundaries. My inspiration comes more from ideas, emotions, and the human mind than from a specific location.
One of the challenges of designing in my country is the economic situation and the high cost of jewelry. Because of this, many designers are forced to focus on lighter and more affordable designs so customers can afford to buy them. As a result, there is sometimes less freedom for creativity and experimentation.

I usually collaborate with companies through online communication and social media. I help them with developing ideas, creative concepts, and 3D modeling to bring their designs to life.

I think companies should choose designers not only based on technical skills, but also based on creativity, originality, and the ability to bring new ideas into the industry. A good collaboration happens when companies trust the designer’s vision and give them enough freedom to create something unique and meaningful.

My design process usually starts with deep thinking and research about a concept or emotion. I spend a lot of time developing the idea in my mind before sketching anything. After that, I begin sketching and creating the form, while focusing on both aesthetics and technical details. Finally, I move to 3D modeling to bring the design closer to reality.

My favorite pieces in my home are my bookshelf, the coffee table in my living room, paintings, clocks, and chandeliers. I enjoy objects that create atmosphere, character, and artistic emotion within a space.

My days are usually a mix of thinking, designing, and researching. I spend a lot of time developing ideas in my mind, sketching concepts, and working on 3D models. I also communicate with clients and brands online. At night, when everything becomes quiet, I often think deeply about new concepts and future designs, because that is when my creativity feels strongest.

My advice to young designers is to stay patient, keep learning, and never be afraid of having different ideas. Try to create designs that truly represent your thoughts and emotions instead of only following trends. Originality, passion, and perseverance are what make a designer memorable.

One of the most positive aspects of being a designer is the ability to turn imagination into reality and create something meaningful from an idea. For me, design is a very emotional and creative journey.
One of the negative aspects is that creativity can sometimes be mentally exhausting, especially when you constantly push yourself to create something original and different.

My golden rule in design is to always create something original and meaningful. I believe a design should not only look beautiful, but also carry emotion, identity, and a strong concept behind it.

I believe the most important skills for a designer are creativity, imagination, patience, and strong observation. Technical knowledge is also very important, but without originality and passion, a design cannot truly stand out.

I usually start by putting my ideas on paper through simple sketches. After developing the concept, I move to 3D modeling software to create and refine the design digitally.

I try to manage my time by focusing deeply on one idea at a time. Since design requires a lot of mental energy, I believe quality is more important than speed. I usually organize my day between thinking, sketching, and modeling to keep my creativity balanced.

A complete design process can sometimes take an entire day, especially when I am deeply focused on developing the concept, sketching, and working on the 3D model. However, more detailed and complex designs may take even longer.

The question I am asked most often is: “How do these ideas come to your mind?” I think the answer is that I spend a lot of time thinking deeply and allowing my imagination to explore concepts beyond ordinary perspectives.

One of the most important experiences in my career has been participating in international design competitions and winning awards. These experiences gave me confidence, motivation, and the opportunity to present my ideas and creativity on a larger stage.

Most of my clients are owners and managers of gold, jewelry, and silver galleries. I usually collaborate with them on custom designs and creative concepts for their collections.

I enjoy conceptual and artistic jewelry design the most, especially projects that allow me to create something unique, meaningful, and emotionally powerful. I love designs that challenge ordinary perspectives and turn deep ideas into wearable art.

My next step is to bring my designs to life and participate in international exhibitions around the world. I want to present my creations to a global audience and continue growing as a designer through new experiences and opportunities.

I work independently and develop my designs personally from concept to final model. I enjoy having full creative control over my ideas and artistic vision.

Recently, I created a design inspired by the concept of “roots.” The idea behind it is that roots are the source of growth and flourishing. Without roots, nothing can truly exist or survive. Through this design, I wanted to express the importance of foundations, origins, and inner strength.

People can contact me through social media platforms and by phone for collaborations, design projects, and professional communication.

For me, design is not only about creating jewelry, but also about expressing thoughts, emotions, and invisible concepts through art. I hope my work can inspire people to see jewelry not only as decoration, but as a form of meaning and storytelling.
