Designer of the Day Interview
2 September 2026
I have been working at the intersection of design, technology, and entrepreneurship for more than 15 years. My journey started with web design and development and gradually expanded into UI/UX, mobile applications, e-commerce, digital products, and emerging technologies.
Through SkyWebTech, I have had the opportunity to work with businesses from different industries and countries. At the same time, creating our own products has allowed me to approach design from a completely different perspective.
Projects such as Cryptcon, Spexo Addons, and Fast Themes represent different parts of this journey. Cryptcon allowed me to explore the visual language of cryptocurrency and emerging technology. Spexo Addons focuses on giving WordPress and Elementor users better tools for building websites. Fast Themes focuses on creating professionally designed WordPress experiences where performance and usability are equally important.
Being both a designer and developer strongly influences how I work. I do not see design only from a visual perspective. I also think about usability, performance, scalability, and how realistically an idea can be implemented.

I did not start my career thinking that one day I would call myself a designer. It happened naturally through curiosity and problem solving.
I have always enjoyed understanding how things work and finding ways to improve them. When I started working with websites, I quickly realized that programming alone was not enough. A technically perfect product can still fail if people find it confusing or difficult to use.
That realization pulled me deeper into design and eventually into UI/UX. Over the years, I learned through real projects, experimentation, observing users, studying successful products, and continuously improving both my technical and design knowledge. I later strengthened this experience with formal UX learning, including Google’s UX Design certification.

My first priority is understanding the problem. I try not to open a design tool and immediately start creating screens.
I normally begin with three questions: Who is going to use this? What problem are we solving? What is the simplest effective way to solve it?
Once those answers become clear, visual decisions become much easier.
My style tends to be clean, modern, and functional. I appreciate whitespace, strong visual hierarchy, meaningful typography, and carefully controlled use of color.
Working on products such as Spexo Addons and Fast Themes has strengthened another principle for me: design should not come at the expense of performance. A visually impressive interface that is slow, difficult to customize, or technically inefficient is only partially designed.
Sometimes removing an element improves a design more than adding another one.

Design gives me a combination of curiosity, excitement, satisfaction, and sometimes frustration. I consider all of them part of the creative process.
At the beginning, there is curiosity because you are exploring possibilities. Then comes the challenging stage where some ideas do not work as expected. Eventually, when different pieces begin connecting and a complicated problem suddenly becomes simple, that is probably the most satisfying part.
Seeing the final design being developed and actually used by people gives me another kind of satisfaction. An idea that previously existed only in your mind has become something useful to somebody else.

My technical background has probably shaped my design thinking more than anything else.
Because I understand development, WordPress, mobile applications, servers, and different web technologies, I naturally think about implementation and performance while designing.
Products such as Spexo Addons demonstrate this particularly well. When designing an Elementor widget or template, it is not enough for it to look good. We have to consider how easily different users can customize it, how it behaves responsively, how developers can extend it, and what effect it has on website performance.
The same philosophy influences Fast Themes, where speed itself becomes part of the user experience.
Entrepreneurship has influenced me equally. Running SkyWebTech has taught me that good design must also understand business objectives, deadlines, budgets, technology, and customer expectations.
This combination of design, engineering, and entrepreneurship has taught me to look at a product as a complete system rather than simply a collection of attractive screens.

My growth is increasingly moving from designing individual experiences toward building products and design ecosystems.
With Spexo Addons, we are exploring how website creation can become more powerful while remaining accessible to people who are not developers. With Fast Themes, the focus is on combining good design with performance, simplicity, and practical business use cases.
Going forward, I am particularly interested in the intersection of AI, design, and human-computer interaction.
My dream is to build a digital product or ecosystem used by millions of people, where sophisticated technology operates behind an extremely simple experience.
I believe AI can eventually help people transform an idea into a professional digital experience without taking creative control away from them.

Do not become obsessed with tools.
Figma, Photoshop, AI tools, and whatever comes next are simply instruments. Learn why something works before worrying about which tool was used to create it.
Study typography, spacing, hierarchy, psychology, accessibility, and usability. I also recommend learning at least the fundamentals of technology. Understanding HTML, CSS, responsive behavior, and how developers think can make you a considerably better digital designer.
Talk to users and developers. Study successful interfaces and try to understand why certain decisions were made.
Most importantly, build real things. Ten completed projects can teach you considerably more than watching a hundred tutorials.

Avoid designing primarily for other designers.
It is easy to create something visually impressive for a portfolio or social media that becomes frustrating when an actual customer tries to use it.
Understand the business, understand the user, and then use creativity to connect the two.
Another important principle is to become comfortable receiving criticism. Do not become emotionally attached to every design decision. If testing or user behavior demonstrates that something does not work, change it.
Also, keep learning. Technology and user expectations change too quickly for any designer to believe they have finished learning.

My day is usually a combination of design, technology, product strategy, and business responsibilities.
I may start by reviewing an interface or discussing a client project at SkyWebTech, then move into conversations about a new Spexo Addons feature, review a WordPress theme being developed for Fast Themes, and later discuss APIs, performance, servers, or product strategy with the development team.
Because my background covers multiple disciplines, I sometimes find myself reviewing typography and spacing in one discussion and technical architecture in another.
I enjoy that variety because solutions discovered in one area frequently influence another.
I also try to reserve some uninterrupted time for thinking. Some of the best solutions do not come while actively designing. They come when you have enough mental space to reconsider the problem.

I regularly explore new products, websites, applications, design communities, and emerging technologies. Technology is particularly important because technological changes frequently create entirely new design possibilities.
However, I distinguish between trends and principles.
Trends change quickly. Good typography, hierarchy, usability, accessibility, performance, and clarity do not.
I might experiment with a current visual trend, but I will not use it simply because everyone else is using it. The question is always whether it improves the experience.
A good design should ideally remain useful after the trend that influenced it has disappeared.

A well-designed product makes something difficult feel easier.
Users should not need to understand how much engineering, research, or complexity exists underneath. They should simply be able to accomplish what they came to do.
I evaluate design through usability, clarity, consistency, accessibility, performance, and whether it solves the intended problem.
Working with Fast Themes and Spexo Addons has also reinforced my belief that performance is part of design. A beautiful website that takes too long to load is not providing a good user experience.
We have to think beyond how a theme, widget, or template looks in a screenshot. We need to consider how quickly it loads, how easily someone can customize it, how it responds across devices, and whether it helps that person achieve their actual objective.
For me, good design sits at the intersection of aesthetics, usability, accessibility, performance, and purpose.

I do not believe a digital product is ever permanently finished.
There is a point where it is ready enough to solve the identified problem and be released, but after that, real users teach you things that prototypes cannot.
This has become particularly apparent while developing products such as Spexo Addons and Fast Themes. Once many different people start using a product, they will use it in combinations and situations that are difficult to reproduce completely during internal testing.
Before considering a design ready, I check whether the major user journeys are clear, the hierarchy works, responsive states have been considered, the visual language is consistent, performance is acceptable, and the implementation is practical.
Then I prefer to release, learn, and improve rather than endlessly pursuing theoretical perfection.

Cryptcon remains particularly meaningful to me because it brought together many aspects of my experience, including design, technology, UX, and understanding an emerging industry. Receiving the Silver A’ Design Award for Cryptcon was an important milestone in my career.
However, I increasingly look at my work beyond individual projects.
Products such as Spexo Addons and Fast Themes represent a different type of design challenge. Instead of designing one interface for one specific use case, we are creating tools that other people use to create their own digital experiences.
That is fascinating because you are effectively designing for designers, developers, entrepreneurs, agencies, and business owners simultaneously.
In that sense, my biggest work may ultimately not be a single design. It may be the ecosystem of products and tools that enables other people to create better digital experiences.

I admire Dieter Rams, particularly his philosophy that good design should be useful, understandable, and unobtrusive.
I also appreciate the product philosophy associated with Steve Jobs and Jony Ive. Apple’s strongest products demonstrate how engineering, design, and business thinking can come together as one experience rather than operating as separate disciplines.
I do not try to imitate any particular designer’s visual style. What interests me more is understanding the reasoning behind their decisions and then applying those principles to completely different problems.

I am based in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. Growing up and building a technology company in India has given me exposure to an interesting combination of tradition, entrepreneurship, diversity, and rapidly evolving technology.
India teaches designers something particularly valuable: there is rarely a single type of user. Different languages, generations, economic backgrounds, cultures, devices, and levels of technological familiarity can exist within the same audience.
That environment encourages you to think beyond your own preferences when designing.
Outside work, I enjoy exploring technology, travelling, and experiencing different places and cultures. Travel is especially useful creatively because it changes your perspective. You begin noticing how differently people around the world solve similar problems.

At SkyWebTech, one principle I strongly believe in is that the purpose of technology is to enhance human convenience.
That philosophy extends into the products we build.
With Spexo Addons, the objective is to make sophisticated WordPress and Elementor capabilities easier to access. With Fast Themes, we are exploring how professionally designed WordPress websites can also remain lightweight, fast, and practical.
I encourage our team to think beyond features. Instead of asking only, “Can we build this?”, I prefer asking, “Should we build this, who does it help, and can we make it simpler?”
Designers, developers, and other specialists need to communicate because today’s digital products cannot be created successfully in isolated departments.
For me, good product culture happens when design, development, technology, and business are treated as different perspectives on the same problem.

I have always believed that knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared.
Throughout my professional journey, I have tried to help younger designers and developers by sharing practical knowledge, mentoring people around me, and creating opportunities where they can work on real projects.
I also enjoy participating in educational and technology initiatives where experience from the industry can help students understand what happens beyond textbooks.
For me, contribution does not necessarily need to be something very public. Helping someone develop a skill, solve a difficult problem, gain confidence, or find an opportunity can eventually have a much larger impact.

The A’ Design Award experience was valuable because it allowed my work to be evaluated within an international design environment.
Winning the Silver A’ Design Award for Cryptcon was encouraging because years of professional work usually happen behind screens, within teams, for customers, or inside products. International recognition gives you an opportunity to see that work from another perspective.
Awards also encourage designers to document and articulate their process. You have to explain why certain decisions were made, what problem you were solving, and what makes the resulting work meaningful.
For me, the recognition is not a destination. It is motivation to continue improving.
Today, whether I am thinking about SkyWebTech, Cryptcon, Spexo Addons, Fast Themes, or something completely new, the underlying objective remains the same: understand the problem, simplify complexity, and use design and technology to create something genuinely useful.

I am currently working on an educational platform that aims to make learning more engaging and accessible. This project has the potential to significantly impact education globally.
The Cryptcon project gave me the most satisfaction because it addressed a real need in the market and received positive feedback from users for its usability and customization options.
I would like to see more emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity in design. The industry should focus on creating solutions that are not only innovative but also environmentally friendly and accessible to all.
The design field is heading towards more personalized and interactive experiences, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning to create smarter and more adaptive designs.
The time to finalize a design project varies depending on its complexity. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to complete a project, ensuring all user needs are met and the design is polished.
When starting a new design project, I begin with thorough research to understand the problem and user needs. Then, I move on to brainstorming and sketching initial ideas before developing prototypes.
My life motto as a designer is: "Design with empathy, innovate with purpose, and always strive for excellence"
I believe design both sets trends and is influenced by them. Innovative designs can create new trends, while staying aware of current trends helps designers remain relevant and responsive to user preferences.
Technology plays a crucial role in design, providing tools and platforms that enable the creation of innovative solutions. It allows for more efficient workflows and the ability to test and iterate designs quickly.
I use a variety of design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and development tools like React Native. My equipment includes a high-performance iMAC and Macbook.
Color, materials, and ambient are essential in design as they influence the user experience and perception. They help create a specific mood, enhance usability, and contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of the design.
I wish people would ask more about the thought process and user research behind my designs. Understanding the why behind design decisions is crucial for appreciating the final product.
When I see a new great design or product, I immediately think about the problem it solves and the creativity behind its creation. I appreciate the thought process and user research that went into making it intuitive and user-friendly.
My ideal design partner is someone who complements my skills and shares a passion for solving problems through design. Co-design can lead to more innovative and well-rounded solutions, as it brings together diverse perspectives and expertise.
Mentors, colleagues, and fellow designers have had the most influence on my design. Their feedback, insights, and support have been invaluable in helping me grow and refine my skills.
I am not book person so I don't read books but I explore various youtube videos or inspiration websites like awwwards, bestwebawards.com .
I developed my skills through continuous learning, hands-on experience, and seeking feedback from users and peers. Staying updated with the latest design trends and tools also played a crucial role in my growth as a designer.
I would love to meet and discuss with Dieter Rams, as his principles of good design have had a profound impact on the field. His focus on simplicity, functionality, and sustainability is something I deeply admire.
Receiving awards and recognition is gratifying and validates my efforts. However, I don't focus on fame; my priority is to continue creating impactful designs. Fame can be a byproduct of dedication and hard work, but it’s not the end goal.

Once, I accidentally sent a draft design with placeholders like "Lorem Ipsum" to a client. They were very confused and thought it was some secret code. We had a good laugh about it once I explained, and it became an inside joke.
A great day as a designer is when I solve a challenging problem or receive positive feedback from users. I motivate myself by staying curious and reminding myself of the impact my designs can have on people's lives.
As a child, I was always curious and loved creating things, whether it was drawing or building with Legos. While it wasn't obvious I would become a designer, those early interests certainly paved the way for my career.
In a thousand years, I envision a world where design and technology are seamlessly integrated into everyday life, making it more efficient, sustainable, and inclusive. Advances in AI and VR will likely revolutionize how we interact with our environments.
I want my fans to know that my journey as a designer has been driven by a passion for solving problems and making a positive impact. I believe in continuous learning and staying adaptable to new challenges. I encourage everyone to pursue their passions with dedication and curiosity.

Time management in design is all about setting clear priorities and staying organized. I follow a structured workflow where each phase—research, wireframing, prototyping, and testing—has a defined time allocation. Tools like Trello, Asana, and Notion help me manage tasks efficiently. Additionally, I set daily goals and regularly review progress to ensure timelines are met.
The time required depends on the complexity and scale of the project. A simple website design might take 2–3 weeks, while more intricate platforms like Cryptcon HTML Template took months to refine and perfect. I focus on iterative design, where each stage—ideation, prototyping, testing, and refinement—receives adequate attention.
One of the most frequent questions I get is: "How do you balance aesthetics and functionality in your designs?" People often want to know how I ensure that designs are visually appealing without compromising usability and performance.
Working on the Cryptcon HTML Template was one of my most important professional experiences. It combined technical complexity with user-centric design, pushing me to innovate while staying aligned with user expectations and emerging market trends.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients from diverse industries across 50+ countries. My client base includes tech startups, financial firms, e-commerce businesses, and educational platforms. Each project brought unique challenges and learning opportunities.
I enjoy working on web platforms and digital templates that address real-world problems. Projects like Cryptcon HTML Template, which combine advanced technical requirements with seamless user experiences, are particularly fulfilling. I find satisfaction in creating tools that empower businesses and simplify complex systems for users.
Looking ahead, I plan to expand my focus on AI-integrated design systems and immersive web technologies like AR and VR. I also aim to launch more comprehensive templates that cater to emerging industries, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) and AI-driven marketplaces.
While I often take the lead on projects, I collaborate closely with a talented team of developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers. Collaboration allows us to merge diverse perspectives and skills, resulting in better outcomes.

My journey has been driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to improving user experiences across industries. For young designers, my advice is to stay curious, remain adaptable, and always design with empathy.
