Design Legend Interview
2 August 2025
I hold a B.S. in Product Design with honors from ArtCenter College of Design, supplemented by study at MIT Institute of Design, INSEAD’s IBD program, and a certificate in Creative AI from Pratt Institute.
I became a designer to blend creativity with empathy—solving real human problems through tangible products.
It was a deliberate choice—I’ve been sketching since age six and knew early that design was my path.
I focus on industrial and UX-driven product design, recently beverage dispensers for Coca-Cola and bath/kitchen fixtures for Kohler, and I’d love to explore more sustainable consumer electronics.
Embrace user research, iterate rapidly, stay curious, and build a strong foundational skillset.
A great designer pairs strong craft with empathy, understanding both user needs and business goals.
I look for clarity of purpose, intuitive use, and seamless integration into users’ lives.
It saves time, reduces frustration, and creates emotional connections, fueling brand loyalty and real ROI.
I’d design accessible medical devices for underserved communities, combining empathy with technical rigor.
A fully modular, easily repairable consumer device that promotes a circular economy.
Empathy-driven research plus a “fail-fast” prototyping mindset.
Designers like Yves Béhar, Jony Ive, who merge simplicity with deep insight.
A futuristic space companion robot I designed in my Senior year of Design college.
I read widely, seek feedback rigorously, and practice side projects to sharpen my skills.
Maybe something related to sports and wellness, ideally, a professional athlete.
Design is the translation of human need into functional, beautiful, and sustainable solutions.
My family of engineers and designers, who nurtured my doodles from childhood.
Consistent curiosity, formal training, and diverse project experiences across industries.
They should tell user-centered stories supported by sketches, prototypes, and real feedback data.
Scaling Coca-Cola’s fountain dispenser platform globally with AI-driven personalization.
To leave a legacy of products that enrich daily life and push sustainable innovation.
Thoughtful insights, collaborative spirit, and maintaining design integrity.
Good design improves accessibility, efficiency, and environmental impact, making life better for everyone.
An AI-powered dispenser concept that adapts drink recipes in real time.
Greater emphasis on circular design, modularity, and product longevity.
Convergence of AI, IoT, and sustainable materials driving hyper-personalized experiences.
Depends on the design brief.
I start with ethnographic research, immersing in users’ environments to uncover latent needs.
Designers shape trends by interpreting societal shifts; trends then inform design priorities.
It’s a tool, enabling new form factors and interactions but always subordinate to user needs.
SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, Fusion 360, SketchUp, and Unreal Engine.
They set the tone and functionality, materials impact sustainability, and color guides emotion and brand language.
“How did you uncover that user insight?” and “What trade-offs did you consider?”
What user problem does this solve, and how could it be improved?
A curious engineer or UX researcher, I believe in collaborative co-design.
Continuous learning and keeping a growth mindset.
I’d discuss design philosophy with Dieter Rams to learn from his “less, but better” ethos.
I’m honored, but stay grounded, recognition is a byproduct of genuine problem-solving, not a goal.
I don't know about great, but I’d sketch product ideas in class instead of taking notes.
I’m always learning - my design is a journey shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to make everyday life just a bit better.

I truly aspire to influence and create positive change in this world. I aim to help people and organizations to visualize a positive future and an uplifted lifestyle.
Design to me is about creating valuable change.
I am interested in designing for the future, innovation in wearable technology and consumer electronics.
My creative neurons are sparking most when I participate in a healthy lifestyle of meditation, eating good and exercising on a regular basis.
Finding human-centered insights using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Good design is inclusive and user-centered.
To showcase and inspire a positive future.
The best inspiration comes from well researched and defined insights and opportunities.
My designs act as a vehicle for interesting conversations.
1. Story and Value are always greater than the product itself.
2. Empathy is the key to solving a design problem.
3. Be a sponge - Learn every day, from everyone.

Curiosity.
There is always room for improvement, a design is never complete.
Being part of the HP inc. innovation team.
