Designer of the Day Interview

I established my own company over 10 years ago. Our works range from private residence to hospitality projects. Our current flagship project is under construction in a beautiful typical island named Langkawi in Malaysia. It is a beach front property and will be operated by Pan Pacific Hotel Group.
I always have a dream to make a better environment for people to live. Seeing the end product gives a positive contribution to surrounding site, is my design goal.
First I always look for the main "problems" versus user's need. Then exercise some strategies to find the most suitable for each case. After conclude which design direction we take, we simulate with 3d animations, and study the space and building form.
It is always excited, seeing the building getting in shape, to feel and see the scale of room and it's visual effect.
Social skill and empathy are skills that we need to have. By possessing those skills, we can have a better understanding of the client's need.
It is my dream to be able to design something that benefit people whom using it in tangible and non tangible aspects.
Be a good listener and humble to accept many inputs.
I like to read any kind of books and watch any kind of movies. A good cup of coffee and self reflection, help me to think more clear.
I like to see what happened in the design and social world through any kind of media and experience it, if possible. I believe the design trend, derived from the culture and social life, happen within this current era.
The good design is reflected through the clarity of space plan.
I feel ready with the design when the space plan has answered the program need and the look please the eyes.
I always fascinated with Tadao Ando and Zaha Hadid. Both represent two different ways of thinking, from east and west.
Born in Asia and diverse culture, give me rich inspiration and lessons of life. Limitation of labor skills also become an important consideration in my design process.
I have a passion to make a better world for people to live. And hoping someday, I can give a good contribution for humanity projects on any place of this world.

I was graduated from Architecture Faculty of Tarumanegara in Jakarta, Indonesia.
I am moved and inspired by the space (either natural or man made), which can transform human behavior, activity, and even the mood. I have a dream to encourage a better living quality for human being by creating space. This thing you can only find within architectural practice.
I have designed many residential and hospitality projects. In the future, I am hoping to design public building, which can accommodate and serve many people.
Young designers needs a lot of practice and dare to experiment.
I think good designer is a person whom can make better environment with his or her good design.Great designer is a person with perseverance and consistency in his or her journey of life, to make a good design.
Good design will set a better life quality to the user.
The good design will effect the user physically and emotionally, and in return, people will favor it as a meeting and social place.
I dream to design a public space which can be good for many people.
Practice and listen to positive input.
I admire many architects and designersas each of them had their own strength and uniqueness.To name a few,they are : Tadao ando, Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry, etc.
See, experience, and observe many things .
Design is to put in sequence some problem solving strategies and materializes it into space and form.
The most difficult things are to realize the design within the strict budget and orthodox mind set.
They should present the design in the way of thinking and perspective of the user.
We design some interesting hotel projects and residential currently
People expect me to become a good designer whom can solve all of their problems and produce a product that can please them.
We are currently working on a small mix use of design studio and private gym, the result is an existing intertwine program, space and form.
I think the design will emphasize more to the human scale as a user, in order to encourage social interaction.
Around two to three months
I always start from the user, then the site itself.
Both ways,because architecture is about life and look.
Revit, Autocad and 3d Max.
It plays important role to please and effect human eyes and mood
Everyone, from clients, contractors, and my team mate.
I like mute and natural colors, all kind of foods, spring and winter, book and gadgets.
I used to hate the words "you look so young", came from the clients.Now i miss the words :)
