About Aesthetics and Chinese Veggspjaldahönnun

Fagurfræði og kínverska er röð veggspjalda sem byggð eru á hönnun kínverskra tákna. Bygging hvers táknmyndar er mótuð út frá grunnstrikum þess, sem eru sett fram í snúnings- og stigvaxandi mynstrum. Röðin umbreytir rituðum texta í sjónræn tákn og nýtir leturhönnun sem samtímalega tjáningarform. Veggspjöld, boðskort og bók voru prentuð til að draga fram táknformin. Veggspjöldin eru 70 sinnum 100 sentimetrar að stærð. Verkið sýnir kínverska tungu og táknmál sem varanlega menningarlega auðlind austurlenskrar menningar.

Unique Properties: This series of works is based on the design of Chinese characters as the main visual design axis. The structure of the Chinese characters formed by the radical strokes of the Chinese characters is presented in a rotating and gradient manner.

Production Technology: In order to highlight the font design, the printed design is specially printed with posters and invitation cards.
Design Challenge: The most difficult part of the design process is the design of Chinese fonts. The structural considerations and visual aesthetics in the fonts must be noted.
Research: Chinese and Chinese characters are important assets for the long-term and continuous development of oriental culture. The work takes Chinese character design as the main design core, and reproduces this cross-border oriental style design energy in contemporary art and literature trends, and actively displays Chinese and Chinese character books. The art and culture are rich in design capacity.
Inspiration: 2019 Creative Poster Design Exhibition: A Crossover between Aesthetics and Chinese Characters” will employ “the beauty of Chinese language and characters” as the design elements to transform texts into visual symbols; “innovation” as the central idea, and font design as a brand new embodiment approach, through the design of posters, to probe the future possibilities which are in line with the beauty of "crossover", "aesthetics" and "Chinese characters”.
Project Duration: October 2019 to complete the design.

Operation Flow: The design of the structure of the Chinese character font using the strokes of the font line requires a lot of time and testing.
