About Parachute Vegghilla

Parachute er vegghilla úr málmplötu. Þegar hluti hillunnar er í notkun fellur planki þess hluta niður og hangir á sínum stað. Hangandi plankinn heldur kápu, tímariti eða svipuðum hlutum og kemur í veg fyrir að þeir detti. Yfirborðið ber litaðar rendur aðskildar með mjóum bilum, þannig að hillan minnir á grafískt útlit nútímafallhlífar og má einnig líta á hana sem vegglist. Parachute mælist 790 mm á breidd, 30 mm á dýpt og 220 mm á hæð. Nafnið sameinar hugmyndirnar um að vernda og að falla.

With the colored stripes separated by thin spaces, the graphic design is reminiscent of a modern parachute; this theme is transformed, in a recognisable and aesthetically successful manner, into an original shelf design.
Design Challenge
Yusuke Watanabe designed a new type of wall shelf, looks like Wall Art.

Yusuke Watanabe was worried about color of gradation, Through trial and error we found best ways. looks like Wall Art.
Inspiration
When listening to Coldplay's first album, it suddenly occurred to me to look up the word "Parachute."

It seems that the name "parachute" comes combining the Italian "parare" (to protect) with the French "chute" (to fall).

I thought that was a rather fine name.
I tried to think of devices that protect against falling.
