Um Artika Horizon Armbandsúr

Artika Horizon er armbandsúr sem einnig má bera í vasa eða um hálsinn. Snúra á ólinni kemur í stað hefðbundinna ólhluta og gefur úrinu einfalda og áreiðanlega byggingu. Ólin er lokuð með sérstakri klemmu, og klemman breytir úrinu í hengiskraut sem hægt er að hengja um hálsinn eða festa við fatnað. Hulstrið er úr málmi og mælist 43 mm í þvermál og 9 mm að dýpt. Framleiðsla er fyrirhuguð með lagskiptri framleiðslu (additive manufacturing) eða CNC-fræsingu. Formið var innblásið af svartholi og sjóndeildarhring þess (event horizon), og snúran táknar geiminn sem sveigist um tímann.

Rannsóknir: The project started as part of a master's project and is part of a collaboration with the Barcelona-based design studio Anima. The task was to develop the concept of a wrist watch for the Artika brand. The main task of the project was to develop a watch that reflects the philosophy of Artik. Also, the idea of the project is the theme of space and time and an attempt to reflect them in the form of a wristwatch. Attempting to integrate the mataphor into both form and function is the basic idea.
Innblástur: The Horizon watch is the final version of this project. This watches reflect the main ideas of the first iterations, which were inspired by the Black Hole and its event horizon, how space can bend under the influence of large forces. So in this watch - the cord symbolizes a space that bends around time beyond its control
Lengd verkefnis: The project started in September 2019 in St. Petersburg and ended in January 2020 in Saint-Petersburg
Verkflæði: The watch is put on the hand and pulled together with a special clip. This clip turns the watch into a pendant accessory that can be hung around the neck or tied to clothes.
