About The Collector Innanhússhönnun íbúðar

Safnarinn er innanhússhönnun íbúðar í Kaíró, Egyptalandi, með heildarflatarmál upp á 250 fermetra. Hönnunin þjónar listasafnara og fylgir maximalískri hugmyndafræði um fleiri liti, fleiri mynstur, fleiri áferðir og fleiri fylgihluti. Innréttingin er innblásin af sögulegri höll prinsessu Aishu Fahmy við bakka Nílarfljóts í Kaíró. Klassískar loftlistar, silkiveggplötur, veggmálverk og timburgólf eru sameinuð litríkum mynstruðum vefnaðarvörum. Íbúðin sýnir einnig listaverk og hluti sem safnað var saman á ferðalögum, svo heimilið virkar sem listasafn.

Design Challenge
Our challenge in this project was to create a design that beautifully blends the client's personality with all pieces of art and objects that she has acquired from travels over time.
Research
The first stages consisted of meetings and site visits to comprehend the owner lifestyle and requirements. The client brief gave the vision of creating a home around European style and cosmopolitan historical homes in Cairo. The most relevant place to this style was the historical palace of princess Aisha Fahmy in Cairo. The client was given pre-concepts and upon approval, Hoda Lasheen Design Studio started the development phase followed by delivering the construction documents and the Bill of Quantities. Hoda Lasheen Design Studio also supervised during the construction phase.
Inspiration
Designed in a beautiful classical European style, this home was inspired by historical palace of princess Aisha Fahmy located by Nile river bank in Cairo. The design had an ambiance that is enriched with the utilization of colorful textiles with various patterns. Classic cornices, silk wall panels, wall paintings and wooden flooring all resulted in an amazing fusion of design that makes that home a museum of art.
Project Duration
The project started in June 2021 and finished in June 2022 in Cairo, Egypt.
Patents
"Copyrights belong to Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge, 1980”
The entrance of the apartment was taken from the library at Villa Oasis, a private residence of Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakesh, Morocco. We were mesmerized by the amount of details and the infusion between different cultures in one place.
