Star glasaseríann er hönnuð með rennandi formi sem sameinar ávalinn botn og ytri hring til að auka stöðugleika. Safnið byggir á staflanlegri og eininga-hönnunarhugmynd. Seríann er úr bórsílíkatgleri og felur í sér þrjár mismunandi stærðir. Glösin eru uppþvottavélarþolin, mjög gegnsæ og fáanleg í mismunandi litum. Glerið er endurvinnanleg og umbúðirnar eru úr endurunnnum pappa.

Star Drykkjargler vann A' Design Award í silfri, gífurlega virta viðurkenningu sem veitt er hönnunarverkum í fremstu röð, stórfallegum og áhrifamiklum. Sigurvegarar í silfri eru ákaflega snjöll og afar skapandi verk sem sýna framúrskarandi sérfræðiþekkingu, hæfileika og skarpskyggni hönnuða sinna. Þess er vænst að Star Drykkjargler sé dásamlegt sýningarverk sem er einstaklega fagmannlegt og djúpt nýstárlegt. Þetta hönnunarverk sem vann A' Design Award í silfri er mjög athyglisverð, dáð uppfinning sem gagnast og færir mörk listar, vísinda, hönnunar og tækni fram á við. Star Drykkjargler er mjög öfunduð sköpun sem vekur langanir, færir jákvæðar tilfinningar og kveikir undrun og aðdáun.

Unique Properties: A super simple and yet strikingly elegant drinking glass collection for every occasion. Based on a stackable and modular design concept it comes in three different sizes and many different colours. Star is made from borosilicate glass. This dishwasher safe material has high transparency and a lot of depth. It sets the scene and helps to present the content appropriately making every drink special. Cheers!

Production Technology: The Star glassware series is made from borosilicate glass. The material is known for its strength, durability and temperature resistance. The glass can be moulded and crafted in a variety of very different shapes and thicknesses. It is an infinitely recyclable material that can be re-melted again and again minimizing waste and environmental impact. The packaging is made from recycled cardboard.
Design Challenge: The main challenge was the necessity to create a series of modular and stackable drinking glasses in different sizes that also explore the formal possibilities of the material and make a visual statement.
Research: The design process was based on conceptual and formal research aimed at understanding material properties and opportunities of the category.
Product development and refinement through traditional sketching and 3D modelling.
Inspiration: The inner and outer volume follow the exact same flowing, rounded gesture. This shape is also playing on the original idea of the tumbler. A drinking glass for many different drinks, commonly with a flat base. But initially with a pointed or rounded base. So, this proposal combines the rounded base with a pointed external ring for added stability. Just stellar!
Project Duration: The project was designed in Italy during the summer of 2024 as a quick side study for Officina Endorfino. A free exploration and exercise in glassware design.
