About Slow Bakery Innanhússhönnun verslunar
Slow Bakery er innanrými bakarís í verslunarrými sem var innréttað í fyrrverandi bílskúr í Magong í Penghu-sýslu í Taívan. Náttúrulegir viðartónar og áferðarríkar steinsteypuáferðir gefa rýminu hlýlegan og fagmannlegan blæ. Viðarhurð við innganginn, mótuð eins og brauðhleifur og með messinghandfangi, endurspeglar vörumerkið. Terrazzo-afgreiðsluborð og gataplötuveggir auka notagildi og skipulag. Endurunninn viður og spónaplötur styðja við sjálfbærni. Vandað rýmisskipulag bætir flæði viðskiptavina og hreinlæti, og innréttingin í heild endurspeglar hollustu við handverksbakstur.

- Production Technology
- Slow Bakery was realized through precise spatial planning and expert craftsmanship. Overcoming the constraints of a former garage, the design integrates sustainable materials reclaimed wood, veneer panels, terrazzo countertops, and textured concrete finishes. Modern production techniques combined with traditional methods ensured accurate dimensions and material cohesion. Innovative detailing, including the bread inspired door, reinforces the brand identity and technical excellence.
- Design Challenge
- The greatest creative challenge was transforming a constrained, repurposed garage into a vibrant, functional bakery that honors local heritage. Internally, capturing the owner’s dream and cultural narrative required innovative spatial planning and material selection. Externally, navigating strict building codes, production limitations, and technology constraints pushed us to blend historical context with modern design solutions, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
- Inspiration
- The owner, a skilled baker, pursued his dream of returning home to open a bakery after years in Taipei’s hotel industry. Inspired by his journey, the design embodies craftsmanship and nostalgia. The bread shaped entrance symbolizes his passion, while reclaimed materials reinforce sustainability. The space blends tradition with modernity, inviting customers to experience the warmth of home and dedication to artisanal baking.
- Project Duration
- The project commenced in June 2022 in Magong, Penghu County, Taiwan and was completed on September 15, 2022. Over a focused period of more than three months, a former garage was transformed into Slow Bakery an adaptive reuse project that blends modern design with local heritage, showcasing the owner's passion and artisanal spirit.
- Operation Flow
- Slow Bakery’s design creates an inviting, easy to navigate experience. The standout bread inspired door welcomes customers and guides them into a naturally flowing space. Inside, well-placed displays and counters allow for effortless browsing and smooth transactions. Clear sightlines and intuitive touchpoints ensure that every interaction feels warm, efficient, and enjoyable.
