About House of the Breathing Void Íbúðarhús
House of the Breathing Void er íbúðarhús sem er skipulagt í kringum miðlægt atríum. Atríumið virkar sem opið tómarúm þar sem loft og ljós streyma frjálst og myndar umhverfiskjarna heimilisins. Atríumið skapar einnig stöðugt samtal milli innri og ytri rýma. Húsið fylgir lífveðurfræðilegum meginreglum, með skýrri suðlægri stefnu sem fangar sólarljós, styður óvirka upphitun og hvetur til náttúrulegrar loftræstingar. Sama stefna gefur byggingunni skálæga form, sem er viðbragð sem er bæði rýmislegt og loftslagstengt.

- Unique Properties
- The “House of the Breathing Void” is conceived as a sanctuary of openness, a dwelling that breathes, listens, and connects. Anchored between earth and sky, the house establishes a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior, shaped by climate, light, and Mediterranean lifestyle. At its center lies an atrium, the open heart of the home, where air, light, and life circulate freely, forming both the emotional and environmental core.
- Inspiration
- The Atrium was the concept inspiration of the project. The house was conceived through bioclimatic principles, its geometry shaped by a clear southern orientation that captures sunlight, enhances passive heating, and invites natural ventilation. From this dual idea, the atrium and the orientation toward the sun, a diagonal gesture arose in the building’s form, a spatial and climatic response that defines its identity. Here, light becomes both material and structure, carving paths through the interior.
