About Space of Light Íbúðarhúsnæði - innanhússhönnun
Space of Light er innanhússhönnun íbúðarhúsnæðis með 354 fermetra innanhússflatarmál. Þemað byggir á hugmyndinni um listasafn, þar sem húsgögn og listaverkasafn skapa sjónræna framlengingu og samfellu. Stór hvít svæði draga úr hvers kyns þyngslatilfinningu, á meðan timburgólf sameinar línur rýmisins. Í stað þess að fela burðarþætti var hæð bita breytt þannig að ljós og skuggi teygja sig sem skýrar línur á veggjunum. Efni sem notuð eru innihalda innflutt timburgólf, ítalskar flísar, marmara og umhverfisvæna málningu.

- Design Challenge
- Considering the aesthetic taste and professionalism of the client, the design theme originated from the concept of gallery where the presence of furniture and artwork collection give rise to the visual extension and continuity, such as the seamless corridor accentuated the pristine quality of the design circulation scheme.
- Research
- Dwelling is not only a shelter from the elements but also a distilled essence of the notion of living, therefore, in fulfilling the aesthetic and spiritual pursuit of the occupant, a graphic designer, the design team chose to inject large area of white color to bring relief to any sense of oppression while the timber flooring unifies the overall line work so that amongst the play of light and shadow, there is a sense of warmth balancing the aesthetics and the living programs.
- Inspiration
- Much like many contemporary museums, designers deliberately weakened external stimulation for the mind and soul while creating flowing sense of tranquility, as such spatial influx formed by light and shadow leads inhabitants into a ritual of reflection and meditation that sharpens their perception and the awareness of oneself.
- Project Duration
- The project finished in March, 2018 in Taichung, Taiwan.
- Operation Flow
- Contrary to the convention technique of concealing structural elements in ceiling design, with much study of the variance of light and shadow, the beam height was altered to extend light and shadow to form pristine lines on the walls which adds dimensions to a cool tone space.
