X Transport è un concept di veicolo per il trasporto merci progettato per le stazioni di ricerca in Antartide. Il design si ispira ai pinguini, che scivolano sul ventre per muoversi rapidamente su ghiaccio e neve. Il guscio è realizzato in metallo, mentre i due sci alla base sono in fibra di carbonio ad alta resistenza. Le unità di propulsione poste nella parte superiore e nella coda utilizzano la tecnologia della spinta vettoriale per controllare velocità e direzione. - The inspiration comes from The Antarctic penguins. They are inconvenient to walk on the ice and snow, but their heavy bodies can move forward quickly by sticking their bellies on the snow. How to make the transport equipment full of materials move efficiently on the snow? The design found the answer in penguins.
- Durata del Progetto
- The project started in December 2018 in LAFA Industrial Design Studio and finished in January 2020 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA.
- Flusso Operativo
- The cargo carrying part of the transport boat can be lifted and lowered by the X-type structure. When the cargo is loaded, the cabin rises and starts to move. According to the different speed and terrain, the X-type structure can also adjust the lifting and lowering and control the center of gravity of the transport boat.
